Suswatibasu (1703 KP) rated The Book Of Mirrors in Books
Nov 6, 2017
While the climax isn't wow, it is a well-written and well structured novel. Surrounding the death of a professor, there are multiple narratives and plots working against each other, with the constant question raised throughout about who is telling the truth. Good, not perfect first novel.

This novel has vivid characters and a carefully structured mechanic of two first-person accounts together with a connection between the two, that builds like a mystery novel. Read my review here https://tcl-bookreviews.com/2015/04/14/the-secret-of-a-100-year-old-woman/

On the surface, Eva Rice’s debut novel The Lost Art of Keeping Secrets seems almost like “chick lit”. On closer inspection it really is much more. You can read my full review here https://tcl-bookreviews.com/2015/01/31/an-artistic-novel-and-thats-no-secret/

Arguably Joanna Harris’s best novel. She gives us a very compelling story that - while not being a true mystery novel - has enough twists to make any mystery genre lover very happy. You can read my full review here https://tcl-bookreviews.com/2015/02/24/best-served-cold/

When Charlotte Brontë, author of the classic novel "Jane Eyre", died in 1855, she left behind 20 pages of a manuscript of a new novel, along with some other scraps of pieces she had been working on. Almost 150 years later in 2003, Irish author Clare Boylan took it upon herself to complete what Charlotte had begun.
