I’ve always liked the idea of making my own chemical free cleaning products, and have come across books with a little bit about it stuffed somewhere towards the back as an afterthought, so when I came across this whole book dedicated to the subject, “The Art of Natural Cleaning: Tips and techniques for a chemical-free, sparkling home (Art of series)” (what a mouthful!) by chemical free Rebecca Sullivan (well, one has to assume she is) I was delighted to say the least.

First impressions are – it’s a lovely small, hardback book, and every other page is a coloured photo of either the finished product or the work in progress.

There are some lovely ideas, and these are set out into categories; Kitchen, Wardrobe and Laundry, Bathroom, Scent and Make It Shine. There’s a nice introduction from the author and a mini shopping list of which are easily sourced. Each idea, if it includes a recipe, is set out clearly with the ingredients you need and the method.

There are several “recipes” I like, but I love those in the Scent Chapter and have made my own natural chemical free air fresheners.

Overall this is a great book and I’ve enjoyed trying out some of these ideas. Incidentally, the book cover is made out of a very tactile (to me anyway) material, that has a slightly woven, textile feel to it. I’m not sure what the technical name is for it, but I like it. And can’t stop stroking it.

Crazy large packaging for tiny items
It annoys me but I love it?!
I have Amazon Prime Student which is £39 a year.
For that I get
-expediated delivery
-early access to deals
-prime music and video access
- Prime drive unlimited photo storage
-kindle borrowing library and
- extra student discounts (about the usual 10%)
I mostly use the music and delivery and for the student price I definitely make my money back on the postage reduction alone. In saying that I would probably not spend a o much in the first place if postage wasn't free.
I've never had any problem with the app which I find easier to use than the website. Payment is so easy once you set up PayPal and swipe to pay (almost too easy).
A tip is to leave items in your basket and wait for the price to drop before buying as you get alerts when the price point changes if the item is in your shopping basket.

Amazon is innovative and has so many different aspects. Prime now lists items in your area which they can deliver to you in a few hours. They have a pantry food branch and a fresh delivery option in some areas. They also have an app selection, warehouse deals and baby lists.

Keeps bankrupting yourself interesting anyway.

B Movie Fun!!
390. Doom: Annihilation. I put it on, the sole intention being to see if it was animated, roughly an hour and forty minutes later the movie ended. And I liked it a helluva lot better than the 2005 Urban/Johnson shitfest. This one obvi has the lower budget of the two, but in my opinion, they made it work. The CGI was minimal, and the creatures looked great for practical effects. I only recognized one of the actors, but again, for what this is, I thought the acting was pretty sweet. It has an Aliens meets Starship Troopers vibe to me, in a low budget way... On Earth scientists are working on a teleportation device to send people on up to the Martian moon of Phobos. But wouldn't you know it, something went wrong. It seems the quick trip through hyper space, the passengers may take a quick trip through a place that looks a lot like hell, or Mustafar, and may have picked up an extra passenger or two, oops. They are not friendly by the way, matter of fact they kind of just tear through everyone like toilet paper, but luckily there's a squad of Space Marines to help, or just become more food for the monsters from Hell. Is there a mad scientist involved? Um yea. So if you can handle the low budget-ness of it, it's a pretty cool sci fi flick. Screw the critics... Still staring at the cover photo, wondering if that's Frank still wearing his stupid bunny suit. Filmbufftim on FB
