Visually poetic, darkly humorous, uncompromisingly brutal!
It's very graphic, but enjoyable.
Never a dull moment in this movie.
Stanley Kubrick's Full Metal Jacket may not boast the most original of themes, but it is incredibly effective at communicating them.

Although this novella doesn't really have a plot like a normal story, it is poetic and beautiful all the same.

On another note, does anyone know what Foxen is? I can't decide if he's a firefly or something closer to Calcifer from Howl's Moving Castle.

Not quite what I expected - the cover suggested it was set in the 1920s but I think it's actually about 1980! Mind you, the characters are all living in some sort of time warp. Glad that Leda got some poetic justice in the end.

I found this difficult to read as the language and tone is quite complex and poetic and I was looking for an easy fun read. The characters seemed real enough but I found the storyline jumped around erratically and left me confused a lot.
