Emma @ The Movies (1786 KP) rated Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again! (2018) in Movies
Jun 29, 2019 (Updated Sep 25, 2019)
One thing that made me click with the movie is that we all know a Harry, Bill and Sam in their younger forms. In fact it gave me a few little traumatising flashbacks, but luckily I was soon moved on by the singing.
I'm very pleased that Pierce's singing was hidden within group pieces or as mildly rhythmic speaking. Pierce, I love you, but no! The singing is amazing throughout and listening to Cher, well, wonderful. The songs were all lovely, toe tapping and smile inducing. If nothing else, then this movie is just a brilliant chance for some karaoke.
I think that my favourite thing is Christine Baranski and Julie Walters together. They're just perfect, and how I see myself being in the future... hell, I'm almost there right now.
For a moment I really wanted to give this five stars as it was immensely enjoyable but the flaws just leave me cold on that last star. Howard Stark feels to me like the weakest out of the cast, I wasn't overly keen on him in the first one either. At several times in the movie I felt like I was watching people standing in front of a green screen, I don't know if they were or if it was just the way it was shot, but it certainly felt distracting. Lastly, if you turned the singing and dancing back into normal dialogue scenes I don't feel like you're left with much of a film, the story is just padded out with what everyone is there to see.
But like I say, it's a good watch. It is emotional and it does instil you with a warm feeling. At one point I thought I was going to actually audibly cry. There are definitely enough good moments in it to make it a must watch.

Angelicalynnn (21 KP) rated Spotify Music in Apps
Jun 15, 2018 (Updated Jul 3, 2018)
- The Premium tab is completely unnecessary! It is just there taking up space. You should have at least made it possible to purchase Premium in the tab solely dedicated to Premium.
- I am disappointed that I no longer have my saved songs. Where did these go? I had over 300 songs saved now they are no longer on my account.
- The new playlist set up is of poor design. Now when you click on a playlist you can only see some of your songs, you have to click in further to actually see the hole playlist adding an unnecessary step. Also Spotify now adds many unwanted songs to your playlist. Plus you can no longer edit your playlist ie. changing the order of the songs.
- When viewing albums again extra steps were added before you can actually reach the information you want. You can no longer add a whole album to a playlist in one step you must now add each individual song to the playlist again taking up more time.
- When viewing an Artists page there is no longer any information about the artist on their page. I like to read about a new artist before I add them and I can no longer do this.
- Design fails include: clumped together songs on playlists and albums instead of neatly listing them. The giant create button is unnecessary. The location of the heart for liking an album/artist/song.
These just list a few of the problems I now have with this app.
It almost seems like these updates were made to discourage the free users of Spotify and point out all of the cool features you could have if you purchase Premium. Unfortunately all it does is discourage users in general, if I am disappointed with the free version of the app why would I ever pay to get more bad features? Paying for Premium is not going to fix the issues I have with the app. Sorry not sorry.

Emma @ The Movies (1786 KP) rated The Big Sick (2017) in Movies
Sep 25, 2019
Based on Kumail Nanjiani & Emily V. Gordon real-life story (click on that link to see them interviewed on The View), The Big Sick is a romantic comedy that will have you laughing out loud.
Kumail's family are determined to find him a Pakistani Muslim girl so that he might settle down and follow in their traditions. But Kumail is anything but traditional. He's trying to make it as a comedian, while driving Uber in his spare time.
He meets Emily at one of his gigs and the pair hit it off. As they get further into their relationship though, Kumail worries what his traditional family will say about her. But Emily finding his parent's catalogue cards of potential brides changes everything.
When Emily is taken sick, her friend call Kumail for help. With the hospital putting her into a medically induced coma, he's then left with the prospect of contacting her parents, who up until this point, he'd managed to avoid...
It's a recurring things with my friends that they always ask me what I've seen or have booked at the cinema now, and this is the first one that has pretty much made them all react in the same way...
Me: I'm going to see The Big Sick.
Them: *scrunches face up at the title of the film*
I'm not even kidding, something about the title just doesn't sit right with them. But I have been urging them to go and see it anyway. Kumail Nanjiani is such a funny guy, if you haven't seen him in Franklin and Bash you really need to.
This film was funny and emotional, and felt very real. I feel contented about having watched it, and that doesn't happen a lot with me. Ray Romano and Holly Hunter make a great pair alongside Nankiani and Kazan. It's an all-round nice film, heartbreaking at points, but still wonderful.
