I believe the speech Milldred gives to the Priest will go down in cinematic history. Overall the movie is such a harsh insight into the midwest's politics, police abuse, race, homophobia and more. It is almost uncomfortable to watch which is the exact reason I believe it is so important for everyone to see. A tale with no hero and plenty of villains, no happy ending (or ending at all), and a lot to tell. I see this as an awards season gem.

Mace Bauer's quiet evening at home is interrupted when her mama calls from jail. It seems that Mama found a dead body in her trunk, and naturally the police think that makes her the prime suspect. Can Mace prove otherwise? This is a fun debut filled with wonderful characters. I did feel the pacing was a bit slow, but overall, I enjoyed it.

Josie Prescott is hoping that hosting a benefit auction fundraiser will help her antique business. But when someone is poisoned during the auction, Josie becomes involved in a second murder instead. Even worse, the police think she might have been the target. It took me a little while to get into the book, but the story was good and the characters are strong.

Bad a**
This movie follows a woman seeking revenge for the deaths of her husband and daughter. She first trusts the system to find justice, but after corruption allows the individuals responsible to walk free she takes matters into her own hands.
This is a great movie with lots of action. She's constantly taking out gang members, and she has the police and the gang chasing her throughout the movie. The movie also challenges the viewer to question whether or not her actions are acceptable.
