Brilliant Political Thrillar
This book should be one of the greats, it is very addictive once you get into it. I read the trilogy in about a week. Lisbeth Salander is a character that you fall in love with and empathise a great deal with. Her trials through out the book are heart breaking and you feel free once she has over come them. Even when she get revenge, although it is pretty gruesome.

I'm not one usually for political films but I thought I would give this movie a try.It was ok,I understood the parts about the Iraq war and the war on terror but some of the other stuff just went right over my head.
Good performances by Steve Carell and Christian Bale who was at times unrecognisable under all the make up and prosthetics.
An ok movie overall.

I recently reread this book and can say that it was much more enjoyable the first time when my reading and viewing was steeped in science fiction. I still really enjoyed reading it and love the tongue-in-cheek nods to science fiction.
I also had a greater appreciation for the political satire this time around; Zaphod Beeblebrox especially stood out as being much more relevant to me at this point in time.

The second novella in Simon Scarrow's 'Arena' series of books, this picks up almost directly after the events of the first.
It also follows pretty much the same pattern as before, with Pavo (who, despite the impression given by the blurb, is the main character rather than Macro) training for another bout in the Roman Arena, while political machinations go on in the background, and with the final chapter concerned with that bout alone.

Where else would you send a Treasonous man and a Dragon with dangerous ideas and powers? Out to the prison colony in Australia of course. Temeraire and Laurence, no matter where they go just can't stay out of trouble. They have charge of 3 dragon eggs and the theft on one of those eggs has them traversing the continent and avoiding a political mess in the mean time only to find something way more complicated.

This thought provoking drone strike thriller is a tense and exciting watch with some excellent work from Helen Mirren, Aaron Paul and the much missed Alan Rickman. I liked how the film satisfyingly explores the political, ethical and emotional implications of ending a human life thousands of miles away from behind a computer screen. It was quite disturbing and sadly very realistic to see politicians arguing over the positives of murder. Well worth checking out.
