again.
2012 threequel (after 2002's 'Men in Black II') which, here, sees Will Smith's Agent J time-travelling back to the late 1960s and teaming up with a younger version of Agent K (as portrayed, pretty much spot on, by Josh Brolin) after an alien assassin escaped from a max security prison on the moon and alters the past.
For some reason - perhaps because the 'older' Agent K (Tommy Lee Jones) only has about 15, 20 or so minutes of screen time) this just doesn't hold the viewers (or, at least, mine!) attention as much as those 2 previous entries, with very little made of the fish-out-of-water aspect of having the 21st century coloured Agent J back in a time when his people were not treated very well at all (and I'm trying to be respectful here).

Heather is released from prison after serving half of her sentence for murdering her MP husband. The thing is, she’s adamant she didn’t do it. She wants to find the real murderer, so that she can get her sons back and clear her name.
I had a lot of trust issues whilst reading this. Honestly, I didn’t trust a single person, whether they were being helpful or not. In fact, I was guessing who could really be responsible for Heather’s husband’s death right up to the end.
I loved Heather’s determination even (or especially) when she was in great danger - which was quite often.
I seem to be one of the last people to discover T.M. Logan, which is both ridiculous and fortunate. At least I have a decent back list to read!

The acting is what carries the film the most. Everyone is fantastic. Grade-A performances.
The simple sets are well designed, and watching as their home evolves provides a brilliant layer to this film.
The brief moments of background narration showcasing the changing city as we progress through time was brilliant.
I only minus one star because I felt that the ending wasn't very satisfying, like the Director couldn't decide on whether the finale should be optimistic or not, so they opted for an anti-ending.
But I definitely recommend everyone give A Thousand and One a watch.

I really enjoy Miranda Grant's writing and stories I have read the fairy-tale of the myths series. This book has a lot more sex and steamy scenes and a lot more graphic violence then the others I have read but there are also a lot of other emotions involved and you can feel them with the way she writes. She is a fantastic author with a fantastic imagination and I cannot wait to read more from her.
Well done Miranda 4/5 stars
