Trish (4 KP) rated The Demonologist in Books

This was an intellectual horror. Andrew Pyper did a good job working Paradise Lost by Milton into this novel. It almost makes me want to read the full text of the poem - but not quite.
If you are looking for a gory horror story, look elsewhere. While this does have a few icky moments, most of it is psychological.
Even after finishing it, I'm still wondering...

Never looked at business cards the same again.
American Psycho is one of the best Psychological Thrillers, Black Comedies, and Horror movies to date. Christian Bale plays Patrick Bateman so well that even though he is a psychopath you just can't help but like the guy even though you kind of want to punch him in the face at the same time.
Definitely, add this to your need to watch list.

Extremely interesting
Took this book on holiday with me and could not put it down! Managed to read it very quickly. So interesting to learn about forensics and pathology! Behind the scenes of crimes that ordinary people would not realise. Read about interesting cases as the forensic/pathology/psychological/detective work that goes into solving such crimes. Fascinating! Clear chapters also. Including some pictures!

Greer Macallister’s third historical fiction novel is once again one that includes elements of a thriller and those of an action novel, all while including the psychological aspects of the mentally ill and their treatment during the latter part of the 19th century. Take a look at what I thought of this novel in my newest #bookreview on my blog here. https://tcl-bookreviews.com/2019/03/15/pulling-a-nellie-bly/

WOW!!!
Holy crap!! Everything I thought I had figured out was wholly disintegrated by the revelation that I was not ready for. I started reading this last night and was immediately pulled into this mind-bending read. The twists and turns of the plot are outstanding, and though I loved the characters, I can't comprehend how Finn just didn't know. I recommend this psychological thriller to one and all.
