Suswatibasu (1703 KP) rated Kohinoor: The Story of the World s Most Infamous Diamond in Books

Dalrymple's no holding back factual account
This was the missing piece of the puzzle in terms of attempting to find out the truth behind the Kohi-Noor diamond. Absolutely no frills account on how the diamond left in its path so much wanton death and destruction. William Dalrymple as always - a detailed historian putting forward the facts. Fascinating and both historically and currently important.

Fast game to play
This was a quick little game. Since it is a two-player, my friend and I played it while our DM put the last few touches on a one-off D&D campaign. It took about 20 minutes from learning to play to checking the final scores. I enjoyed the puzzle aspect of the game, though I don't always have the spatial awareness to determine how a piece would fit on my board so my piece of patchwork had many holes!

This is a great thriller
I just really liked this book, I've read it too long ago to go into many details. But I intend to revisit it someday, and that means something as i usually don't revisit books. I like to consume and move forward, knowing that the next great story is waiting for me to reveal it.kind of like this book does with each puzzle, on to the next one.

It is quite good, the story line is quite interesting, there are lots of games out there like this where you have to find objects in various scenes to build a collection and progress through the story. It is very similar to another one but the good thing about this is that is is not just hidden object but mixes it up with puzzle levels too. It is quite easy though because I have managed to progress through the game and now on level 14 without losing a life. I will keep playing it though to see where it goes.

feels like you are building a castle with blueprints
Incredible balanced, semi puzzle, with competitive aspects, and lots of economic and point scoring strategy.
I love this game, it's so much fun to play, and even has a one player version, my wife and I sometimes play separately and send each other pictures of the final blueprints. it's fun to imagine them actually existing with a bowling alley next to a kitchen and a garden a few feet from a torture chamber. The expansion adds some more fun with new rooms and secret passages.

Cyn Armistead (14 KP) rated A Deadly Row (A Mystery By The Numbers, #1) in Books

Eh. I don't know that I'll read any more of this series. I found it far too frustrating to wait for the supposedly intelligent lead character to catch up to the killer's very obvious clues. The identity of the murderer seemed plain to me from the moment he was introduced, yet all the other characters were oblivious. And for a "mystery by the numbers" there were very few numbers - I would have thought that at least one little puzzle would have been included for the reader, but there wasn't so much as a reference to Sudoku to be found.

Very much enjoyed this book. I’m not a big gamer and nor was I alive in the 80s but I was still able to get a lot of the references and Cline did a great job of explaining everything. The story got me hooked from the beginning. This world, inside and outside the OASIS, was very interesting and highly developed, so it was very easy to imagine. It was all just a big puzzle and it was fun to go through it. I do wish there had been a little more at the end other than the contest just ending. Overall great read.

Fun, cozy, casual game
This was a very simple to learn, sometimes funny, sometimes weird, casual and cozy game. I'd compare it to Katamari, but instead of rolling up a big ball, you're sucking objects into a hole, which gets larger the more it collects. There is a bit of a puzzle aspect to it, and the story is really fun. These kinds of games are super satisfying to me! I played this recently using Xbox Gamepass so it may still be available on there. I just wish it were a bit longer, but otherwise I was impressed.

A dark little puzzler
Contains spoilers, click to show
Little Nightmares is a cute but dark and somewhat Grimm side scrolling style puzzle based platformer of a Horror videogame published by Bandai Namco Entertainment & developed by Tarsier studios for Windows, ps4, Nintendo switch, xbox one and stadia.
Set in a variety of locations filled with emptiness and seemingly demonic creatures, our little protagonist(?) Awakens and immediately set's off on a dark and difficult journey....but to where and through what is a mystery.
Brilliantly designed & thought out, little nightmares will have you questioning a lot in its short gameplay.
