Alicia S (193 KP) rated Kiss the Girl (The Naughty Princess Club, #3) in Books
Sep 28, 2018
I laughed, I cried and didn't want it to end... Highly recommended!!
Had no idea this was the last title in this series and I guarantee it made no difference as I flew right through! A one sitting read for me - loved this book and so needed this hysterical Rom-Com in my life right now! A light-hearted romance that made me laugh from beginning to end.
Ariel, like many women, is struggling to find her strength again after being broken down bit by bit by her condescending ex-husband. Never feeling good enough, she has sworn off men and relationships for good. Concentrating on getting her and her best friend's new business going, she has no time for a guy like Eric.
Eric, the rich-kid with a heart of gold, in the sweetest most subtle ways possible, finds his way into her heart. He's willing to let Ariel be Ariel while providing just what she needs - a true partner. When she is at her absolute lowest, he steps in and helps her build herself back up. Helped her find her own confidence again and making her see her own beauty, strength, and voice again. And of course, the fact that he can throw down the wisecracks as quick as she can, make these two just too cute for words. I laughed, I cried and didn't want it to end... Highly recommended!!

BookwormMama14 (18 KP) rated Scarlet (The Lunar Chronicles, #2) in Books

Fact: When I discover a series that completely sucks me in...I simply have to binge read the whole thing. If the series has stand alone novels in it, it isn't as much torture and I can wait...But if it is a continuing storyline...You won't see me come up for air until I am done (or to post the reviews for said books). So pass me the Starbursts and Red Bull, I will see ya later! Oh, after I finish this post.
Scarlet picks up the day after Cinder ends. Cinder and Kai remain as main characters throughout the second book. But now we are introduced to a whole new level of intrigue in the storyline. Scarlet and Wolf are AMAZING! I adore them and can't wait to see where their story leads. Scarlet's grandmere is pretty awesome too!
As secrets unfold of her heritage and her grandmother's past, Scarlet embarks on a dangerous mission to find her grandmere and bring her home. Scarlet will do anything to protect the only family she has left, even at the risk of her own safety. We also begin to learn more about Cinder's past and everything that she has gone through.
Cyborgs, Wolf Gangs, Lunar aliens, space travel, escaped convicts, hidden princess, hidden genealogy, this series has so much to offer and entertain. Clean and sweet romance appropriate for Young Adults. I am comfortable recommending this book to teens and adults.

I truly enjoyed this adventure across the country!
I have read several of Misty M. Beller’s books now and she is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors in the Christian historical fiction genre. This is the first book in The Mountain Series and a great introduction to the series overall! I will be buying the rest of the series.
From the very beginning, Misty M. Beller grabs your imagination with intrigue and travel. With so much going on in the first few chapters I was nervous that the rest of the book would not live up to the beginning’s standards. I was pleasantly surprised when that same even pace was kept through the whole book! The vivid descriptions through Leah’s travels across the country and the descriptions of everyday life on the mountain were fascinating and believable. It got my imagination involved. The plot was believable (Mostly, I mean it is a work of fiction), and it flowed well from one scene to the next keeping a hint of mystery along the way.
The characters in this book were interesting. I loved Leah’s faith; I strive to have the faith she displays. I also liked her unwavering strength when things got tough on the mountain, she showed such a positive spirit and seemed like a joyful person. Gideon... Silent and quiet at first, great with animals, like to chop wood, Mm, talk about a mountain man

The Source ( Witching Savannah book 2)
By J.D. Horn
Once read a review will be written via Smashbomb and link posted in comments
Graceful trees and historic buildings fill Savannah, Georgia, but beneath the city's Southern splendor, its supernatural roots run deep. The members of local witch families grace the society pages...when they're not secretly protecting their magical work from dark forces.
Savannah resident Mercy Taylor may now be in control of the South's most powerful family of witches, but she's struggling to master her newfound magic. Pregnant with her first child and still reeling from a heartbreaking betrayal, she just wants to be able to use her supernatural abilities without accidentally destroying dishes or blasting the doors off buildings.
But when Mercy's long-presumed-dead mother suddenly returns, begging Mercy to keep her presence under wraps, the witch wonders how many secrets her family is hiding...and who she can really trust. And when the danger around her intensifies to deadly levels, Mercy knows she must discover the truth behind her family's magic - before it destroys her.
I loved the first book! The second did not disappoint at all it was brilliantly done. The intricate relationships woven throughout both books are special in every way. Nothing seems forced and it all flows so well. I think the changes to come are exciting and so is the new baby!! I did she’s a tear at the end kinda gonna miss Jilo!

Dark Veil ( Society book 2)
By Mason Sabre
Once read a review will be written via Smashbomb and link posted in comments
For the past two years, Cade MacDonald and Gemma Davies have been forced to hide their illicit affair from the Other world, where mating with a species different to your own defies every law and mandate of Society. Considered an indefensible act, it is punishable by banishment from their community, or even worse, by death. However, Cade and Gemma experience a bond few ever do, wolf and tiger connecting deeply and irrevocably. Against all odds, their relationship flourishes and solidifies despite the difficulties.
Yet now, they suddenly find themselves faced with obstacles and danger they could never have imagined. Not only is their relationship and place in Society at stake, but their lives—as well as those close to them—are at risk. Their enemies are many, and the battles they need to overcome seemingly insurmountable. Will they be able to defeat their adversaries, and more importantly, will their love manage to prevail above all else?
This was definitely an improvement from book 1! I mar first I thought really a baby? But it worked and it was better written and paced out really well. Humans really are an awful species! Without giving much away I’m really hoping they can get away! Also loving the new characters and the introduction of witches!

All the Dead girls ( Graveyard Falls book 3)
By Rita Herron
When a violent storm hits Graveyard Falls, it unearths the unimaginable: skeletons of teenage girls, each dressed in white and holding a candle. It's clear to FBI agent Beth Fields that this is the work of a long-standing killer - but could it be the one she escaped years ago? She has no memory of the man who held her captive and murdered her friend. But even though someone was jailed for the crime, she's always feared that the real killer is still out there...waiting and watching.
Ian Kimball never believed his stepfather was guilty of Beth's kidnapping or the slaying of two local girls. Now Graveyard Falls's sheriff, he's determined to catch the true perpetrator. And when more young women go missing, he realizes he needs Beth's help. She is nothing like Ian expected, and everything he desires. But if they have any hope of finally ending the killer's reign of terror, Beth and Ian will need to put everything aside, including their past, their mistrust, and their growing attraction...
I loved this one and never ever want to visit Graveyard Falls! This had me guessing right to the end but once I saw Milo talking to Vanessa I thought Gotcha!!! It was a good thriller it’s good to see Beth being let to put her demons to bed!
Good read, fast paced and good storyline

Ivana A. | Diary of Difference (1171 KP) rated Books for Kids: Goodnight, Monster! in Books
Oct 2, 2020
A cute and cheeky bedtime story!
I knew I was going to enjoy this little read as soon as I saw the cover and the little blurb. Goodnight, Monster! by Chloe Sanders is a story about Ben, who doesn’t want to go to bed, because there is a monster in his room.
A message to give people a chance
When his mother encourages Ben to make friends with the monster. There is a lovely moment here with a message to give people a chance, as they are more than what they look on the outside. I really loved this moment, and I wish more children books focused on it.
Ben says hi to the monster and makes friends, and then gets him ready for bed. He teaches Monster Bo how to brush his teeth, and have a bath, and have dinner, but the monster keeps trying to misbehave and hides Ben’s socks under the bed, and does other cute silly things, but Ben teaches him how to be a good monster.
I really loved this bedtime story. I think it has a lot of messages to teach young children – especially for them to realise that it is now time for bed. Furthermore, a couple of life lessons are secretly hidden inside this book too, that makes me really happy.
If you have little ‘’monsters’’ at home, I am sure both of you will enjoy this short bedtime story.

Merissa (12950 KP) rated Taken (Werewolf Academy #4) in Books
Jun 1, 2020
Taken is the fourth book in the series and follows on from the previous one. Alex now knows beyond any doubt that Siale is the One for him but Kalia needs some convincing. Alex wants her as a friend but that is it. He finds himself in Torin's Pack for the year, which doesn't go very well. Let's just say, him and the toilets become very good friends. I won't say anymore than that!
Right then, so, this story... is just like the others. It is intense and fast-paced with the overall story arc but you also have Alex trying to negotiate his way through girl-infested waters. Not an easy job at the best of times. Alex proves once again he will do anything for his friends and family but not all outcomes are happy ones. The depth of emotion in one particular scene just about killed me and it was absolutely perfect.
Things are changing for Alex but his self-preservation isn't one of them. He still puts everyone else before himself, although I think he may be starting to realise just what he has with Siale.
An absolutely brilliant book, full of emotion and action, and highly recommended by me.
* A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book, and the comments here are my honest opinion. *
