I had no idea what to expect of this story, as I'd downloaded it from Tor and stuck it on my e-reader for some time when I was stuck with nothing else to read. It was perfect filler reading, and very thought-provoking.

I suppose everyone knows the Four Horsemen of the Apolocalypse, yes? Death, War, Famine, and Pestilence? Well, after they've done their jobs, what do you expect is left for them? That's the basic setup of the story, but it gets much better than that.

I am feeling somewhat fan-girlish about Richard Parks right now, to be honest. I can't really offer to have his babies, but I'd happily buy him coffee and gaze adoringly at him while listening for a good while at the very least. I intend to check out anything else I can find by him!

My most recommended book!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, in the short time I was reading it (I couldn't put it down!). This was the first dystopia book I have purchased and would definitely do so again.
I had fun getting to know the characters and understanding how their world worked, relating it to our world now and wondering how we would cope in the same situation.
I felt like I knew where the story was going all the time, until, PLOT TWIST after plot twist was thrown my way! I think this is what made it difficult to put down. I just wanted to know the next part of the story.
I will definitely be buying the next book to read, I hope it's just as good as this one was.

Made me cry! Beautiful story.
The Fault in our Stars is an international bestseller by an award winning author John Green. This is John Green’s most loved and heartbreaking story yet which will be hard to beat! If you have not heard about The Fault in our Stars, where have you been hiding? Age does not matter with this five star beautifully written, heart warming, must read story! Do not wait to read this book, bump it up your pile or BUY IT NOW! I will forever praise and highly recommend this book to you all.

I could not put this book down until I had finished it (I was in another world while reading this book). As most of you will know this story has been adapted into a film and if you are a book worm like me, the book has to be read first! I cannot compare this book to the film as I have STILL not managed to watch the film yet! This is the perfect book for you all but specifically for those who enjoy the young adult, drama, death, romance and contemporary genre’s. This has to be on of my favourite books ever by John Green which led me to reading all his other books, I did find The Fault in our Stars a very emotional read so be warned!

This is Hazel’s story, Hazel has terminal cancer and will not expect what is about to happen… When Augustus walks into her life Hazel’s story will be completely re-written. Will they fall in love? Will Augustus show Hazel how beautiful life really is? That is for you to find out not if, but WHEN you read this outstanding story, trust me it will not let you down and will stick in your heart and mind forever! Enjoy, try not to cry!

I kept missing bits that were just thrown in, and I really loved that.
Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book.

Jumping straight in with this one, cos I really REALLY enjoyed this book bar one teeny weeny thing, but I'll come back to that! This is the second book by this author I read, and that book was a 3 star, it-was-ok kinda read and this one is so NOT that!

I loved that many times in the book I had to back up a bit, and reread what I just read cos I was like "say what, now?" MANY times. And a book that makes me slow down my reading is never a bad thing, I had to here, cos I kept missing bits that were just thrown in, and I really loved that.

I loved that Fenn had no idea about magic and the sorcerer and what was going on in the tower. Loved that Fenn was quite laid back about it all, really.

I loved the way things crept up on Fenn, much like his worple horse and what it can do, (not sure if thats the correct spelling though!) and that so much was not as it appeared to be. I loved what the horse does with the pink eiderdown 🙂

It's not especially explicit but is steamy enough. Violence level is low but fitting for this book. I was surprised at the level of emotions that Fenn threw at me though, and I've no idea why!

What let it down, for ME was only Fenn has a say, and I so wanted to hear from Morgrim, I really did! I wanted to know what he was thinking when Fenn first landed in the tower grounds; what he felt about Fenn and his horse.

But what I wanted MOST to know about, was how Morgrim felt about what had happened to him 2 years ago, and how he was dealing with all that. I'm greedy, I know, but had Morgrim been given a voice, I have no doubt at all that this would have been a five-star review, it really would!

I can see the author skill has grown a great deal since I read the other book (2017) and I WILL read more now!

I was lost in their story and loved every word.
BLOWOUT is the sixth book in the Breakers series but you could read it as a standalone. Both characters are mentioned in previous books but you don't NEED to have read those to fully appreciate this story.

Cas was a player - until Jules came into his life. Now, he wants her but won't go past the boundaries she has set. Jules has too much going on in her life to put up with a playboy! Her son needs her and she needs work to keep food on the table and a roof over their heads. But Cas - very gently - breaks down her defences. And what horrible way does he do that? By caring. By putting her first. By treating her the way he believes she should be treated. Oh, man!

I felt for both Cas and Jules in this. Yes, Cas is in a better position financially, but emotionally, he's just as hurt as Jules. It is by being together, by opening themselves to each other, that these two work so well. No lies, no games (not conscious ones, anyway,) just two people trying to figure out what everyone else seems to already know.

The pacing was perfect and I read this in one sitting, unable to put it down. I was lost in their story and loved every word. A great addition to the series and absolutely recommended by me. Now, I just need to wait for Theo's story!

Delaney deals with a lot here!
Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book.

Delaney comes to New Orleans after her mother dies, to find she is now the owner of The Bird House, a brothel. Meeting Alderic is the bright light in a dark place. But Alderic is a smuggler, and Delaney is now a Madam, The Painted Lady. They walk in different circles. Someone, however, wants The Bird House.

What I liked about this, was Delaney did not know what her mother did. She was sent away as a child, and has not returned home for a long time. Remi (who turns out to be far more than a bodyguard!) is her only connection to her mother. But once Delaney got her head round the idea, she embraced it. I loved that the girls in The Bird House were all there voluntarily.

I liked that it took Alderic a LONG time to figure things out! Loved how he got Delaney back!

It's not explicit, at all, given where Delaney now lives, but it is emotional. Delaney deals with a lot here, and it takes a toll.

I'm left intrigued, though. By Alderic's partner, Nye, and his new wife, Sarafina. They have a book that preceeds this one, I want to go back and read it. I have a feeling that Sarafina was a shock to Nye's system!

4 very good stars

Very steamy and full of lots of laugh out loud moments
I LOVE this book. It is one of the most addictive romance novels I've ever read. The story of Caroline and Simon's budding relationship is exciting and raw. The best thing about this book is the hilariously relatable protagonist, Caroline, and her adventures in juggling her career, her baking, and her extremely loud neighbor. Would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys romance novels that offer sexiness and a good chuckle every now and then.

Wow, what can I say? I thoroughly enjoyed reading Lady Midnight. I felt for all of the characters, I had favorites who turned into less desirable characters towards the end. I thought I'd predicted who the killer was and then a sense of dread and realisation and I found myself flicking back to earlier parts of the story to cement what I now knew was true before Emma pieced it together herself. I can't wait to read the next installment! I'm especially looking forward to seeing how Kit and Ty interact with each other.

Josh Handleman has returned home to bury his father. But he's barely arrived when he starts hearing rumors that his father was murdered and that he owned a bunch of diamonds. The diamonds are now missing. Were they why he died? This is a very atmospheric story with wonderful writing. The story was a bit slow to get going, but once it did, I was completely hooked.

I do not really now how I feel about this book. Though I can feel about being afraid of something or for the Mel and Katie in their situation. But I did learned that you do need to let your burrens to the lord and let me guide you and do has is will. I have hoping and praying that he will bring that person to me as well. I do hope you read this series if you have not I would and then again either way I hope you enjoy it.
