Why did I not read this sooner?!?! It's been idly waiting on my kindle for a few months and jeez, I so should have read it sooner.
It is AWESOME!
Remington 'Riptide' Tate is AWESOME!
Brooke is AWESOME!
Their love story is EPICALLY AWESOME!
I've read so many good reviews for this and I had high expectations for it, and let me tell you it did not disappoint.
The first few pages where there's the build up to Remy entering the ring, I was grinning like an idiot at everyone's reaction and I was waiting for my first glimpse of him. Phwoar! He is HOT! And just reading about how easily he knocks his opponents out...well, what can I say *fans self*.
Then when he meets Brooke's gaze...some really hot chemistry going on there and I was all "Go Brooke, go Brooke, go Brooke!"
These two are probably one of my favourite book couples and I cant wait to read Mine, Remy, Ripped and Raw...eeeeh! Excited!

So, I have a bit of a goofy grin on my face right now. That last page or so, the thing I've been waiting almost 150 pages for!!, finally happened. *grins*
I'm a happy bunny.
But back to the story. Admittedly the storyline is a little unbelievable--unless you live America, obviously--but I quickly got over that and just invested myself in the possible relationships of Mackenzie. I know she liked one guy and was a bit oblivious to most things around her with her wanting to be invisible but come on! I figured out about the other thing within 100 pages!
After the video of her CPR Fail went viral, her life went a bit national-news and I guess stuff like that does happen but again I struggled to understand that part of it. Some bits were cool; the band and Ellen but other bits just made me go "huh, really?"
Nevertheless, I did enjoy the story and wouldn't mind reading more by this author.

I find the authors works very wordy, as in they use words and language that is very apt for the jobs their characters do and sometimes I have no idea what the hell they're talking about so I can sometimes find it hard to get into.
That being said, I really like Tom and Prophet. It may have taken me a while to read this but since it was a story about those two I persevered and enjoyed learning more about them. In the last one I think I was more of a Tom fan and in this I was more for Prophet.
One quote near the end had me smiling happily:
<i><b><blockquote>"You'll end up with a man whose name starts with E."</blockquote></b></i>
Not that I'm going to tell you what his real name is, you'll have to read it for that.
I look forward to reading more books about these two at a later date. (And I'd really like to know what's going to happen next for Cillian and Mal, too)

This is something like my sixth/seventh, maybe even eighth, book by the author and I've liked some more than others.
He always writes different stories, stuff I've never seen or read before, and blends paranormal, a bit of horror/gruesomeness and a splash of romance. His books tend to be very English in language and setting, and being from England and reading most books set in America, they're a nice change.
Now for the story. I had an inkling as to who it might be from about the 60-70% mark. Things just started to add up. <spoiler>Child crying. Mum being dead. It suddenly clicked</spoiler> so I wasn't too surprised by who was behind it but the lengths he was going to go to was quite disturbing.
It was a good story as usual but because I kinda figured out the bad guy before it was revealed at the end it wasn't quite as good as some of Tim's other works which keep you guessing.

Wow, what a read. I could not put this erotic supernatural book down. It’s fast paced, an easy read, there’s background on the MC’s, the story was very enjoyable, and I will definitely be rereading this after I read the rest of the series!
I got such Twilight Vibes while reading, but in a major adult way i.e. the erotic scenes. But the thing about this novel, is that it really isn’t erotic. It’s on the verge of being an erotic novel, but still is hanging onto it’s PG-13 romance roots. That could just be me also.
I loved how creative the author was with this story. Vampires unable to do the deed unless they have a Watcher inside of them lying dormant. And if that Watcher senses his mate, he goes crazy with control and trys to impregnate her. I was always fighting with who I actually shipped, but I will always be a Galen fan. That rugged sexy accent is all I need. 😋😘

This is my first time reading Erin Bedford and I quite enjoyed it. The story flowed well and the characters were likeable it’s exactly what you would expect from this type of book. I think if you enjoy this genre then this book is definitely a good one to read!

This is another great addition to this series of books starring DI Helen Grace and another that keeps you on your toes, guessing to the end and reading way into the night. Although this is the ninth in the series, it does work well as a standalone however, you do lose a bit of the history of the characters which helps to flesh them out and explain their motivations but not enough to detract from what is a great book.
The premise of the story is like nothing I have read before ... the killer lets the victim know they are going to die within the hour! What would you think? What would you do?
From the very beginning, the action starts and the pace doesn't let up throughout culminating in a heart-stopping, breath-holding finale.
There are twists, turns, trials and tribulations aplenty which made for an exciting read and I most definitely look forward to number 10.

"Let’s face it, in all of human history, the most effective delivery vehicle for mass death ever to exist on earth has been—wait for it—the rat."
This is a timely novel and rather scary, as it dips into medical research--particularly rats--and the plague. There's something slightly uncomfortable about reading about the spread of mass disease during a pandemic. It was, however, fascinating, too. Bohjalian tells his story from a variety of points of view--Alexis; Austin and his acquaintance Douglas; investigators in Vietnam who work Austin's case; a private investigator named Ken whom Alexis hires and more. Somehow it all works, with the careful unfolding of facts. We learn about Austin's real reason for being in Vietnam and it all builds up to a dangerous crescendo.
Overall, I enjoyed this one. Bohjalian has a way of embodying his characters, and I particularly loved Ken, the crusty yet kind P.I. The story was quite interesting; oddly well-timed; and the ending especially horrifying. Definitely worth a read. 4 stars.

Delia Owens delivers us the story of Kya the "Marsh Girl" abandoned by her family in Barkley Cove, North Carolina.
The novel switches between times, something I always struggle a little with when reading a novel of this type. Following Kya growing up, being left in the marshes, finding and losing love and learning important life lessons along the way.
It then switches to the discovery and investigation of Barkley Cove's celebrity and much loved football player Chase Andrews. The locals decided that Kya is most likely to be the murder suspect.
Whilst beautifully written, and weaving joy and sadness through what is a very descriptive novel, I did struggle to read through this story, putting it down more times than continuing to read, and at one stage almost considered not finishing the story. I feel that perhaps the ratings and attention this book has had are perhaps over rated. Its a nice story, a little too wordy in places, but worth a read, but do not expect it to live up to the hype.

A weak story
Anyone who has read my other book reviews knows I'm a huge Stephen King fan. He's my favourite author, so it really pains me to say that this is probably the weakest book of his I've ever read (and I've read most of them!).
This is a short story that's been published separately, and I think this is the first mistake. It isnt a strong enough story to support being published on it's own. And the story itself is a massive problem. It's well written with some decent characters, but the story is barely there. There's some intrigue but sadly the ending of the story is very lacking. I know it isnt a horror and is meant to be a true crime style novel, but I was hoping for something similar to Joyland which was rather good. And sadly this is nothing like it.
This isnt awful, as it's well written enough to keep you reading but it's in no way a shining example of King's usual standard.
