A story of redemption, second chances and characters that weasel their way into your heart to stay, Ms. Alexander's What Hope Remembers is fantastically done. I instantly transported to Misty Willow(which, in my mind, wasn't hard to do since I live in Willow Spring!) and settle right in for the long haul of Amy and Gabe's story. I loved watching the story unfold and felt like I was among family.

Amy, Gabe and Aunt Tess are my favorites! I loved Gabe and Aunt Tess' characters the most! They really fit well in the story. Amy's character was also a great fit. I loved the way Ms. Alexander chiseled her and her flaws. Watching them come to terms with their past, present and their future really took my breath away, in a good way, of course! Gabe's not so perfect past really opened my heart to him. I can't imagine going through what he went through, and the mama bear in me wanted to wrap him up in a big old hug!

From start to finish, you'll be completely wrapped up and taken on a whirl wind ride of hope! It is the third book in the series, yet the first one I read. It's easily a stand alone novel and I highly recommend it, with 4 stars to all! It's a story of long ago loves, soul searching, learning to forgive yourself and trust in God. Great job, Ms. Alexander! Can't wait to read more of your books. <a href="http://cafinatedreads.com/revell-reads-review-what-hope-remembers-by-johnnie-alexander/"; target="_blank">This review was originally posted on Cafinated Reads</a>

Overall this book was a good quick read. I could see myself in Charisse so much. Not that I may have always attracted bums, but I definitely had myself guarded so that I was ready for the hurt before I could get hurt.

Charisse has been attracting bums her whole life. The lying cheating kind, not the ones on the street. As a real estate agent it's easy for her to meet good looking men all the time, but quality isn't really there. When she finally is able to let go of events in her past, she is able to demagnitize herself and find "The One" she has been looking for all along.

I would recommend this book to anyone who likes quick reads with a strong female lead.

Ms. Jenkin’s shares her story of traveling from what was seemingly a normal life to addiction to jail to sobriety in a way that is eye opening and entertaining offering hope to the reader that life can be good again. (0 more)

This book, a true life story, is written in a way that reads like fiction and engages from the beginning. It is short and easy to read but full of valuable lessons to the reader of what jail is like and what it feels like to both have messed up and hurt those you love as well as successfully navigated recovery. There is some “mature content” (drug use, language, lesbianism) but it isn’t gratuitous. Ms. Jenkins book is as funny, touching, and insightful as her blog, “Juggling The Jenkins”.

I received a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.

This is a shorter story and definitely reads like one. The author does not waste time with unnecessary character or world development, instead diving right into the story. The reader learns what they need to along the way with enough plot to keep the story interesting.

Overall, I enjoyed the story. The lead Amber, seemed to have a good head on her shoulders with brain she actually used. Jareth is your typical alpha male and I found his race more interesting than him as a character. The only part I truly did not like about this novel was their first sexual encounter. It felt more like an angry interrogation taking away from the heat of the scene.
