Loving this series
When Micah Bryant was 9 years old, his future was pulled into his family. It takes Connor Clark a long time to realise that Micah was always The One, will only ever be The One. They just need to tell the family. And avoid Connor's past.
Loving this series, I really am, despite the fact its first person multi point of view ? or maybe even BECAUSE it's written that way, regardless, loving this series.
You don't need to have read the other four books, although they are all 4 and 5 star reads, they can all be read as stand alones, but it would give you a better understanding of the Founding Families of Lavender Shores, and the strong bond they have. It will give you a better understanding of just WHY Connor is so reluctant to become official with Micah.
I enjoyed this one, not as much as book4, The Shipwreck, but it's still a very good read. I think more could have been made of the Moses' (Connor's nephew) return home story line, because let's face it, the Clark family are not the nicest bunch of folks, and I would like to have known how Connor ended up with Moses in his custody in the first place, that was not really explained.
But I am enjoying that there is no real break ups in these books, there is no real violence to deal with. They really are just great reads, books to fall into and forget about the world for a few hours.
Seth though, he needs a story! The poor guy is hard done by here, and I want to see him happy!

This is a new to me author and one I'll be reading again! Dragon Seed really pulled me into the heart of the story instantly. From the start I was completely engrossed and taken on a fast paced ride of what's right and wrong. That's saying something for this book as I'm not a huge fan of young adult reads. However, this book....oh, this book really hooked me!
As a mom of two teens, one of whom is troubled and angry often times, this book hit home with me in so many ways. It's so much more than a simple young adult read. It's a book filled with Bible lessons and messages of prideful ways and seeking more of Him. I loved that! These are the kinds of characters, and plot lines, that I want to see my children reading! Lessons of good versus evil, right versus wrong....all of it so gripping!
This book is definitely worthy of 5 stars. It's phenomenaly created, it's well rounded with complex characters and God's lessons. If you are looking for a laugh out loud book for your child/teenager, then this isn't quite the book for you. If you are looking for a fantabulously written book, that will leave them thinking over and over again, then yes. Definitely grab this book up. It's not only for children/teens, but any adult who seeks a better relationship with God or who struggles with pride. The book comes with devotionals at the end. I can't wait to pass this on to my kiddos to see what they think! Well done, Mr. Machowski! What you'd expect from the hilarious Alan Partridge
This is as hilarious as you'd expect if you're an Alan Partridge fan. The audiobook, however, is so much better as Alan reads it in his own dulcet tones. While I've heard it's not as good as "I, Partridge", if you're reading this first, it matters less.
In this episode of his life, Alan is intent on rambling through parts of Britain in the form of a "journey journal", where he details the people and places he encounters. And mostly complain about his aching feet. Obviously things go horribly wrong.
Alan's rather blunt feelings and tendency to state the obvious comes through in all of the random footnotes. I had to suppress a few laughs on the bus due to some rather amusing moments. A great laid back read.

As a person who reads as much as I do and loves dystopian fiction it is surprising that I had not read [The Giver] by [Lois Lowry] before now. It has been in my classroom for years and on "my list" but I never got around to it. Now with it coming out as a movie(which I will never see because the book is ALWAYS better), I decided to read it.
It reminded me of [Fahrenheit 451] by [Ray Bradbury]. The concept of a sterilized society without creativity has been around for a long time. [Lowry] puts the reliance of society's memory on a child. It becomes his responsibility to remember and protect them from their own history. The Sameness is their protection but at what cost?
Overall I enjoyed [The Giver] and hope all my students read it.

I have a new guilty pleasure and it’s name is Grady Hendrix. After finishing My Best Friend’s Exorcism, I find myself hungering for more of Hendrix’s work. Fortunately, the audiobook was not read by the same narrator as Horrorstör. Instead, this 80s style book is read by Emily WooZeller – the woman that narrated Shallow Graves.
My Best Friend’s Exorcism reads exactly like a cliché. If you’ve seen any horror film from the 80s, you probably know exactly what I mean. All the way down to the dog. Normally this would put me off, but instead I found it oddly comforting. Totaling only ten hours, it’s not a terribly long read either.
I really wish I had more to say, but honestly with that last description I’ve pretty much said everything. Just take your average 80s horror flick elements and apply them!

I received a e copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Can I just start by saying I absolutely loved this book one of my favourite reads in a while and reminds me of the books I avidly devoured when first dipping my toe into the romance genre.Duty is a lovely medieval read where we become attached to the to main characters from the start Brielle and Tomas , they were both such strong characters with amazing positive attributes, I loved travelling the journey of there love story and was sad to finish a thoroughly engaging tail that kept me captivated from start to finish.on a final note I absolutely hated the king he was vile and I felt like giving the little brat a kick up the derrière while reading.but even with that little gripe this is a fab read.

A gripping thriller by an excellent author. Girl on the Train doesn't fail to excite you the whole way through, with twists and turns around every corner!
Rachel is a troubled, and somewhat annoying and nosey, character who leads us through her bland existence which begins unravelling due to events she would have been better keeping her nose out of, but you'll be glad she did! This story comes at you thick and fast, entertaining anybody who reads it.
Though I predicted most of the end of the book by about halfway in, that didn't take any of the excitement away from the story and it actually made want to keep turning the pages to see how things were going to turn out.
A book I've recommended highly to many family and friends, be sure not to miss this off your reading list!

Nostalgic
An excellent novelisation of a classic game.
I thoroughly enjoyed S.D. Perry's 1st volume of her seven book Resident Evil series.
The book not only stayed true to the original game, and managed to not miss a single detail, but somehow goes into more detail without inventing her own non-canonical parts of the story.
The book brings a great sense of nostalgia, a throwback to the day you first played the game, and the most nostalgic part is Barry's famous "Jill sandwich" line, that Perry keeps intact.
My only criticism is the narration, the way the reader actually reads the book. Sometimes characters appear to be breaking the fourth wall, answering to the author, distracting you from the tension the author has just created.
All in all a good read!

This is definitely not a read for people who have a delicate stomach or are repulsed by graphic and descriptive reads.
I myself loved the fact that this book really turned my stomach and the horrific story line blew away all rational thinking. This author found the darkest recesses of his mind and invited us in for an exclusive look.
My only con with Frank Made Lunch is that it is in need of editing but even that didn't stop me from giving it the rating that I felt it deserved.
This is the BEST horror book I've read this year and trust me...... you WANT to read this. I HIGHLY recommend you read this book and would love this made into a movie. I'll end this review by saying that Frank will remain inside my mind for many years to come.
