I'm at odds of how to rate this book because while it was so magical and enchanting and had the most beautiful language and essentially everything I love in a book it somehow didn't give me that feeling that I wanted and that I get from my 5 star reads. I went into this wanting it to be a 5 star read and expecting it to be a 5 star read but for me it just fell a little short of that. I still adored it and want nothing more than to attend the cirque de reves and I like celia bowen would also die for marco alisdair and i so wish it were real. Actual Magic in a book.

I love Toff and I love fake dating and I love Christmas so really this should have been right up my street. I'm going to chock my thoughts on this book up to me not being in the right headspace to pick it up. I put it off a little waiting for the wintery season and when it finally came time I just wasn't in the mood so that definitely coloured my perception a little. I actually ended up quite enjoying this by the end but it was a slow starter for me. I love that Toff decided to narrate the audiobook herself but I didn't particularly enjoy her narration (again this spawns from my previous reads leaving so much to be desired and not being in quite the right headspace). All in all not a bad read but not a particularly great one either.

So, My reviews aren't really long because I use the app more than the website and I have so much trouble typing on a phone anyway...

I really, really like this series!

My stepmom wants me to branch out of middle school books hence The Selection, The Twisted Tales, and the Disney Villians series. Browsing Amazon for quarantine reads I remembered the Gallagher Girls a series recommended to me in high school. I owned books three and five (Long story) so I hunted down the rest. I'll be honest, it isn't often that I dislike a book and this trend continues! I'm head-over-heels in love with Gallagher girls!

Told from Cammie's POV her little quips and 'fast-facts about the world drew me in and made me devour the first book and this one. It was amazing, it was intense, a nice roller-coaster ride and I can't wait to see where the next one goes (Already on chapter five)

"This wild ride was released in 1959. John Cage reads 90 one-minute texts, while David Tudor creates inventive cacophony in another room, out of hearing; so that any relation between voice and accompaniment is purely accidental, as Cage says in the liner notes, "to suggest that all things – stories, incidental sounds from the environment, and by extension, beings – are related, and that this complexity is more evident when it is not oversimplified by an idea of relationship in one person's mind." Cage's preoccupations include music, mushrooms, and Merce Cunningham; personal anecdotes, Zen proverbs and monk jokes, and lots of modernist name dropping. Tudor's palette includes prepared piano, springs, radios, and existing music, notably Cage's 1958 Fontana Mix. Cage complains that at his readings inevitably "someone comes up afterwards and insists that the continuity was a planned one, in spite of the ideas that are expressed regarding purposelessness, emptiness, chaos, etc." Planned, schmanned!
