Dave P. (9 KP) rated Westworld - Season 1 in TV

Slow and Go that is the tempo
This new take on the Michael Crichton novel rings the HBO show to a better futuristic reality that the old movie. There's drama and romance and all the stuff you would expect in a western themes virtual world to go out and play in. Some twists and turns along the way. I enjoyed watching the first season but it had some slow spots.

The movie would have been much better if i had not read the book first. Ive read it atleast 15 times before i watched the movie and it did not do it justice. But its understandable though. It would take to much time and money to completely make the book into reality. Also most things would be pretty hard to recreate that you had imagined while reading the book.

Love Instagram
I love Instagram, its great for looking at pictures of family and friends, without all the other stuff that comes from facebook. My favorite part is following celebs, and people who have been on tv shows I watch, like Big Brother and MTV reality shows. You can see what happens in their lives and if they stay or breakup with someone.

Eleanor & Park
Eleanor & Park
Rainbow Rowell | 2016 | Young Adult (YA)
This book was everything I ever wanted in a romance thrown in with the reality and issues that are sadly so commonly found in the teenage generation. It was also what both Park and Eleanor needed in their lives. The romance was refreshingly simplisitic in a time so driven by lust which made it so very perfect. I 10/10 recommend this book to any lover of YA lit.

The beginning had me hooked. Royally Screwed was a cute enjoyable read. I had a couple moments of laughing out loud.

Nicholas thinks he can have any woman at any price, but reality knocked the wind out of him when he enters a diner drunk.
Olivia is definitely a bad ass that doesn't take shit off anyone. Nick thought he could buy her for sex. Olivia shows him who is boss

Don't make this book a hidden thing
I absolutely loved this book. I liked the characters. It was a story of midlife with just enough magic invoked to make it a fantasy. How a man who has English as his second language can write something so spectacular I will never
know. Clever man. Now where are those stone walls...

"Buddhist monk Matthieu Ricard and astrophysicist Trinh Xuan Thuan explore the connections between science and Buddhist philosophy. Taking a scientific and secular approach, the authors explain the Buddhist theory of emptiness: the concept that all beings and events are relational and interconnected and therefore have no separate, absolute reality in space and time. I keep this book on my desk and go back to it often for clarity and inspiration."

"Run, Ronnie, Run! From the creators of Mr. Show — David Cross and Bob Odenkirk. It’s another movie full of one-liners. It’s a little more adult than Juno, but to me it’s kind of a mix of Rock Star, Juno, and Totally Awesome. It’s kind of just dumb, funny humor, also kind of a mockumentary about reality shows. Pretty much half of my daily vocabulary is from that movie."

"The rarest of books about the experience of a science writer uncovering and investigating a cell line that changed the world, all while being thrown into a transformative journey of discovering race and racism in America, the culture of African Americans in the USA, and the painful reality of loss and family. A truly remarkable read—and I failed at science. Fascinating and phenomenal, heartbreaking and utterly compelling."

"The Maysles are masters. Their philosophy of Direct Cinema is proved in these films. Life is as interesting as fiction. This is not reality TV; it is observational documentation in the purest sense. It is not manipulated; the only filter is the obvious love the filmmakers have for their subjects. Salesman is as deep as Death of a Salesman or The Iceman Cometh, and Gimme Shelter is like Greek tragedy."
