I flipped through GYBO and wanted to jump up and down I was so excited about all the amazing recipes. Cheese and Chive soufflés? Blueberry Almond scones? Banana Tea bead, Tomato tart… So many cool things.
I feel like this book was made for me because one of the things Emmett said about his baking was he liked sweet items, but he also liked to take traditionally sweet things and make them savory: for example, the Savory Bacon Cheddar Chive scones sound awesome and are totally on my “to-bake” list (what, you don’t have a to-bake list? what’s wrong with you?) and Salted Peanut Cookies? Why didn’t I think of that?
The instructions are very reader friends and clear, and you don’t have to be an experienced baker to follow the directions (though you have to have serious patience and lots of time to make the traditional Croissants. Like seriously? Who ever thought that process up?).
The only reason this book isn’t 5 stars is because there are only a few pictures. in the middle of the book is a photo section where some of Emmett’s recipes are beautifully and colorfully photographed. And I totally understand how expensive and time consuming it would be to photograph ever. single. recipe. But I’m a visual person. I flip through photos and decide what to make on the photos, not the titles of the recipes.
However, even without every recipe being shown, they all sound great, and was really excited about using this book.
The recipe I tried was the Blueberry Almond scones. I didn’t have lemon juice for the glaze, so I made a vanilla-almond glaze with butter and cream, and I used gluten free flour (because I was making breakfast for a GF friend). I also miss-read the amount of almonds I was supposed to use, and ended up using double the amount. But they turned out phenomenal. Ugly, since I don’t have a rolling pin and I didn’t have any flour to dust the cutting board. Also I only have one cookie sheet so I used some muffin tins– they sort of turned into “drop scones”—but they were delish.
This book is totally on my favorite cookbook list and I will absolutely use more of these recipes.

The Slime Book: All You Need to Know to Make the Perfect Slime by DK is a great craft source that is not only fun but a learning experience. It also encourages kids to experiment to perfect their recipes. I found the chapter on edible slime interesting. The format makes these recipes easy for younger kids yet adds a level to challenge more experienced kids. The addition of difficulty level and time required helps with choosing what slime to make.
This book is a great way to introduce slime making to school age children. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. The illustrations support the content well. Different slimes may entice children to make them first based on glow in the dark, sound effect, edible, or other qualities. Warnings are present when necessary. There are plenty of options and "fixes" if your slime is not behaving as expected. This is sure to appeal to young scientists, and parents will appreciate the reminders to keep things clean (including your hands) and dispose of any mess.

Good but could be better
I primarily use this as a food diary to help keep track of my macros for keto, but it isn't ideal for that purpose because of how it tracks carbs. It is a great basic app but if you want to really get down to calculating gram that goes into your diet you may want to look for a different app. It can also be a pain to create recipes. Still for what it is, and the price its good, and I would recommend it to the casual eater/dieter.

Hannah needs to lose weight, so she has joined Heavenly Bodies, the new gym at the mall. But one morning, she finds universally hated fitness instructor Ronnie Ward floating face down in the spa. It really is cruel to talk about losing weight in the middle of all the delicious recipes in the book. Not the strongest plot in the series, but fans will love spending time with their favorite characters.

The Diabetic Pastry Chef is a wonderful cookbook with more than just recipes. Stacey gives standard and metric conversions, lots of easy to read and easy to understand information about diabetes and food, descriptions of the various kinds of flour, how to use sugars and substitutes, and wonderful hints and tips for spices, various substitutes, and nutrition.
The recipes themselves are sorted into 8 categories, like Tea Breads, Cakes, Puddings, Breakfast, etc. They are clear and easy to understand, and at the bottom of each is a Nutrition Facts graph like on the back of most food, with all the information about what you’re eating.

The only complaint I have for this book is that there are no photos of any of the pastries. I like a book with photos… however. the pages are not glossy and have wide margins, so they’re the kind you can easily make notes and write on with no problem.
Overall I recommend this book to anyone who loves desserts but needs to watch their blood sugar, or even to those who want to watch their weight.

The Pho Cookbook by Andrea Nguyen is an in-depth introduction to pho and its history. The book is split into six sections Pho Manual, Master Pho, Adventurous Pho, Pho Add-ons, Stir-fried, Pan-fried pho and Deep-fried Pho and Pho Sidekicks. Each section is includes high quality photographs that show both food and life in Vietnam.
An excellent book, both from the point of view of the approach and extensive documentation, as well as a sample of quality food writing. Beyond the useful directions and details about how to prepare the traditional Pho, and the meals to match with, the reader is also offered anthropological observations about the history of this meal and other insider information based on frequent visits to Vietnam and direct experience in her mother's restaurant.
The book provided many variations of Pho, which I am looking forward to trying out. While I haven't yet made any of the recipes, I did read over them and they vary in skill and level of difficulty, which is something I appreciate as a lover of Pho as well as a lover of easy recipes.

Perfect for everyday needs
I can find everything I ever need to know. From how to’s, DIY’s, recipes, and even links to awesome products to purchase. I think I use it everyday.I love that I can organize what I save the way I want to. If you’re looking for a place to learn lots of new things this is what you need!
My go to site
I love Pinterest as a ‘go to’ site when I am looking for recipies and craft patterns. It’s very easy to use, tho I would like to be able to search ‘country specific’ sometimes rather than having to trawl through everything. It’s also very easy to get sidetracked from the original search as there is so much on offer.
What can I say but Yummmmmmm
The beer battered Zucchini tacos are probably my favorite, but then I haven't tried over half the book yet, so who know that could change. I loved how easy theses recipes were to follow and that they came out looking like the book. It was a very easy step by step process and I have already recommended the book to a couple of friends ... plus bought the book for my self.

I loved the collection of recipes in this book.
They look and sound so yummy and I loved the adjustments at the end of the book for bigger crowds. That's something I have always struggled with when going to bigger gatherings. The stories wove in are special to, its like looking at other peoples memories and being right there when it happened. I truly enjoyed this book and have purchase a physical copy as well.
