Stylish, patient direction
Understated when most films would go big
Unlike "Baby Driver", which has many similarities with this film, the central relationship is never suggested to be anything more than some casual relationship that gives the main character a chance at redemption
Carey Mulligan is as luminous as ever
It's about as deep as a puddle in a parking lot (1 more)
It is generally very overrated
A good, yet unacknowledged, remake of "The Driver"
Well, it's a remake of Walter Hill's "The Driver". Not officially, sure, but it just is. It annoys me that this was never really acknowledged, but it's a good one, so there's that.

Otherwise, it's a flimsy, but good little crime thriller that's generally overrated. Shouldn't stop anyone from seeing it though.

Not bad remake of "The Last man on Earth" which has elements of Charlton Heston's "Omega Man"
Smith is convincing as he wanders around a deserted New York and conveys loneliness very well, the CGI on the whole is good and the empty streets haunting however the creature design was a let down and not convincing enough, good but not great Sci-fi!

I wasnt a huge fan of the original movie, however with the Coens onboard for the remake I was expecting good things.
All the signs were there and with usual Coen style this western was a move back to times of great storytelling and beautiful vistas.
With great dialogue and stunning performances from all players, this turned out to be very enjoyable.

"Christopher Nolan’s American remake was perfectly fine, but it still couldn’t capture the gut-twisting oppressiveness of Erik Skjoldbjaerg’s original. Anchored by Stellan Skarsgard’s impeccable portrayal of a man drowning in his own sins, this is the neonoir that truly turned noir on its head: darkness becomes something you pray for, while light is a straight razor that’s found entrance to your brain."

The story didn't feel very original, I actually thought it was a modern day remake of the original Die Hard with Dwayne Johnson playing John Mclane with a prostetic leg, Every other character seems 1 dimensional and forgettable including the main antagonist, an ok watch if you have a few hours to spare and turn you're brain off at the door
