"Sturges takes a whole assortment of disagreeable elements—cliché rich people, cliché cardsharps, snakes, and slapstick—and makes one of the greatest romantic and funny comedies. The cast one must adore—never better."

"The format of this book is part of what makes it so great — that the subjects, very rich people and very poor people, got to see Goldberg’s portrait and write a sentence upon looking at themselves. It’s easy to objectify a subject — but also really easy to simply invite them to speak."

I really enjoyed this second book in the Crazy Rich Asians series. Rachel and Nick are about to get married when she gets crazy news from her now-approving future mother-in-law: her father is not only alive but is waiting to meet her. There are many ups and downs, new characters’ stories, and lots of glimpses into the life of these crazy rich people!

I finally got around to seeing Crazy Rich Asians. I loved it! However, I wasn't in love with the overly predictable ending. (I didn't read the book.) It was good, though, and see why people liked it as much as they did.

"As a person who enjoys movies about rich people with personal problems, I am obviously very fond of the collected works of Whit Stillman. This one, his first, is talky and romantic and features a baby-faced Chris Eigeman—that alone is worth the price of admission."

"Paul Farmer is one of the most impressive people I’ve had the honor of getting to know. He’s an amazing advocate for the health of the world’s poorest people, and he co-founded a system of health clinics in Haiti that reaches more than a million people in some of that country’s hardest-to-reach places. Melinda and I took our kids to Haiti this year so they could meet Paul and see the work he leads. In this book he really opens your eyes to the vast differences between the health of the rich and the health of the poor."

Actors performed amazingly
Enthralling season!
One of the best seasons yet, in my opinion. The story-line was rich with subplots that are follow-able if you pay attention. Intricate, delicate plot which was just amazing - kept you guessing. I would recommend people to watch GoT.

"It’s unfortunate that there aren’t more movies about working-class people killing rich perverts and taking their money. Paul Bartel is one of the great gonzo satirists of cinema, and with apologies to Costa-Gavras or whomever, this is probably the most common-sense, pragmatic political film in the Criterion Collection. Also one of Mary Woronov’s greatest roles."

Dark, but necessary
When Society throws out the people who don't fit the mold, action/reaction! This film was a dramatic reflection of real life. The poor and mentally impaired are considered as bad as the trash piling up on the streets. The rich make the rules. Eventually, someone does snap and sparks a revolution.
