I recently reread this book and can say that it was much more enjoyable the first time when my reading and viewing was steeped in science fiction. I still really enjoyed reading it and love the tongue-in-cheek nods to science fiction.

I also had a greater appreciation for the political satire this time around; Zaphod Beeblebrox especially stood out as being much more relevant to me at this point in time.

Very poor addition to the Seth Rogan and James Franco cannon.
It's an absolutely ridiculous storyline that can only be for the very youngest viewer as those with a slightly higher IQ will blanch at the attempts made here at humour.
I understand it's an attempt at satire but it backfires badly for this turkey of a film that offended N.Korea and I for one will never be able to recover the lost viewing time.

While I know the premise of the story (thanks Wishbone) I had never read it or watched the movies. I never realized it was a satire nor that it was written 300yrs ago. It surprisingly keeps up. A very imaginative tale, if a bit long. I wish I knew a bit more about England's history
At this time because I know I missed more than a few references; endnotes helped. Worth reading at least once.
