Way too serious!
If you liked the original George Lucas classic, you may not like its very serious sequel.
Instead of cruising having a good time with your friends before you are off to college, the main characters deal with issues like the Vietnam war, protests and the peace movement.
The music is still great and there is a very funny cameo scene; however, it is not enough to save this film which just gets the tone completely wrong.

At last a decent low budget horror that was quite entertaining! It had a good cast with a few familiar faces from TV of yester year. The story was something a bit different from the normal. What really made this for me though was the design, largely on animatronics and prosthetics than cgi, of the ghost characters. The production of the whole film looked pretty good for the budget. It reminded me a lot of Thirteen Ghosts. Hopefully there is scope for a sequel.....or two!

David McK (3663 KP) rated Star Wars: The Destiny Path in Books
May 8, 2021
This comprises the first 6 issues in Marvel's latest run of Star Wars tales, set in the period between 'The Empire Strikes Back' and 'Return of the Jedi'.
Han Solo is frozen in Carbonite; Luke is still reeling from the shocking revelation of his parentage and Lando is still viewed with suspicion by Leia, Chewbacca and the rest following the events on Cloud City.
An enjoyable enough read, with some fancy art, and - unlike the sequel series - this actually seems to have a defined overarching plot

Sara Cox (1845 KP) rated Larimar: Gem of the Sea in Books
Jun 26, 2019
What an amazing short read. This story is about a man that saves an underwater race from being devoured by a sea serpent. So much happens in just 50 pages. There is mystery, love and adventure. A cruel king, a downtrodden boy with rights to the throne, magic shells, mystical storms and a ships captain who believes in myths and legends. I haven't done my research yet because I was so excited to let you know how amazing this read was, but I hope there's a sequel.
JUMPCUT ONLINE (77 KP) rated Crawl (2019) in Movies
Jul 14, 2019
Crawl is absolutely everything you could want from a Summer movie – the experience of watching it is like being on a theme park ride, it’s UNDER 90 minutes (praise be!) and refreshingly, it is not a sequel, a reboot or franchise fare. It’s actually a pretty taut (almost) two-hander that focuses on a father-daughter duo facing off against a giant alligator duo (relationship unknown) in the flooded basement of a Florida home during a hurricane.

As a fan of the original critters movie from back in the day of VHS wasn't sure if there really was an need for a sequel it's not bad movie short not too long. Nice too see Dee wallce stone back as she was in the original film in my opinion the real star of the film is Bianca the female crite who steals the show from her male counterparts maybe I will bgo back and watch the original again sometime
