When you first start this book, listen to the warning. This book is sure to leave you entertained, depressed, scared, scarred and slightly relieved that you have gone so far in your life without knowing that "wound sex" is a thing. Choose Your Own Misery: Dating was hilarious! I couldn't put it down and all of the adventures were funny, scary, or downright disturbing. I loved that you could play as a man or a woman. It really did put it in perspective that everyone has it bad.

If you need a laugh and/or a cry, this is the book for you. It has anywhere from "wound sex" to "let's contact the ex" relationship horrors. It's sure to delight and/or frighten everyone.

"I thought this was a really interesting mix of horror and sex. There are so many sexual references, from the robot attacking Sigourney Weaver, and he rolls up a magazine and stuffs it down her throat, I mean, wow! Or the fact that Ash’s blood looks like semen, it’s just a lot of that kind of stuff. Deep, deep psychological sexual stuff; like calling the computer ‘Mother’. It’s really fascinating, and I think that’s why it’s so successful in scaring you. It places imagery that’s deep and sexual in a horror show. It’s designed to scare people, all this stuff that is repressed, and gets inside their psyche and is truly uncomfortable, and I think it’s right in (Alien artist and production designer) HR Giger‘s designs, I think sex is what we’re all afraid of."

I seem to have a fascination with reading romances involving sex workers. Yeah, I know that's a little weird but I like how they go from being all hard and bitter to finding the one to melt them.

Technically she isn't a sex worker, she just poses nude/half nude for photos in a magazine. But she gets up close and personal with her male counterpart.

I really liked the story, probably thanks to my above mentioned admission.

There were a few reasons why I didn't give it a higher rating. His relationship with his girlfriend, and the ending--or the bit near the end. I'd have liked a little more of them as a couple but since I know there are more books maybe I'll see more of them in those :-)
