I wasn't entirely sure what this was about when I got it from Smashwords. If I remember correctly, it had good ratings and reviews on there which is why I downloaded it.

Unfortunately, I didn't really gel with the storyline or the characters. And I'm not too big a fan of lots of sex in a story, unless there's romance involved in it, and considering I was only 28% (2 page turns to a %) in, about 15%--maybe more--of that must have been him looking at her "f*ck me" boots and her body and touching and kissing and wanting to do more. I get that she's got this allure about her but for me there was a little too much lusty stuff and not enough other plot in it up to that bit.

Oh, and it could do with a good editing.

"I always wanted to get back to what we did with PiL [Publice Image Ltd], but I got caught up in other things. The Sex Pistols were back on the road and no regrets: those people are my mates. Then it was all the TV work, which I loved. I discovered that nature is not something to be scared of, and best of all, that animals seem to like me! They don’t want to put me on the menu.” Lydon reflects on his not-so-punk appearance on the reality TV show ‘I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out of here’ He continued: “But hearing this absolutely brilliant record, in particular Halleluhwah, which lasts an entire side, reminds me of what we were trying to do with PiL. Can is its own thing and so is PiL. The only way to file these records is alphabetically.”

"A lot of record shops were closing around this time, and I won’t use the internet to buy them. The internet is for porno, encyclopedias, and video games, of which I waste an awful lot of time on. So I slowed down in the purchasing around here and went back to old stuff like Kate Bush. On “Wuthering Heights,” her voice is almost hysterical but always in her own register. I find it very soothing for her to be squealing away up there, it’s fantastic. She’s a gift. I love PJ Harvey too. That’s one very interesting woman who doesn’t play the sex category. She strides in there at the level of any man, and I’m really proud for her in that respect, because that’s really what we wanted in punk—we wanted girls to be the equal to the boys, and she carries that great tradition. "I would say The Notebook is also another one. Maybe because it’s like a reflection of that similar type of love story. Forbidden love is always nice to see on camera as well. Being young and not being allowed to date kind of started that whole thing. I do remember when Noah and Allie have their kind of sex scene, getting my eyes covered by my mom — which means I was very young. I was maybe like 10 years old when I watched that movie for the first time. But, again, also one of those movies where I watched again when I was 13, and then watched again when I was 14, and 15, and 16, and so on. I always find something new about it, and maybe it’s because now that I’m older, and you experience love differently, it changes the way you watch those movies for sure."

Airplane 2 - The Sequel (1982)
Airplane 2 - The Sequel (1982)
1982 | Comedy
Some of the William Shatner stuff is funny, apart from that mostly sucks. This is just the same exact movie as the first one almost beat for beat, but worse. Recycles umpteen jokes from the first film, recycles jokes from itself, then recycles jokes that it already recycled from the first film again... time. and. time. again. Take a shot every time this reuses a joke (which mostly consist of bad 'lol sex funny' gags which wouldn't plague American comedic cinema for at least 20 years after this), rips off the first movie, brings in a previous cast member who clearly doesn't want to be there, or says/does something unfunny - you'll be blackout drunk within 15 minutes, tops. Doubly impressive how this manages to be so limp and forgettable considering it's a supposed sequel to one of the most hilarious and memorable movies of all time. Raw cringe.

4.25 stars.

I was dragged in from pretty much the first chapter, where they lock eyes after he gets out of the cop car. You could tell that something big had happened. I could tell from pretty early on that Luke had feelings for Avery and it was these scenes that had me so invested in this story. The sex scenes were so... full of emotions, in my view. I pretty much read for the romances and this was so compelling.

I'll admit I was intrigued about the other half of the story, the murder and all that, but I wasn't quite convinced by the why of it in the end. Why would you group together to do something like that and why all young girls? That bit wasn't explained in my opinion.

Nevertheless, I enjoyed this--mainly due to Luke--and I look forward to reading more of this series.

3.5 stars.

I dunno with this one. I'm hit and miss with D/s books. Sometimes I like them sometimes I don't. This one, that side of the story, I'm not that big a fan of. I don't always understand it, and I think that was definitely the case with this one.

I loved the storyline and everything--minus the above mentioned thing, anyway--the kidnapping and the owner who isn't all bad. The romance between them. I think it was the sex side of things, I skipped through the first one (at least I think it was the first one? About half way through?) and skimmed the rest, looking for the more romantic take on it all.

Hmm. I'm not sure if I'm intrigued enough to continue the series. I'll think about in my sleep and see how I feel in the morning.

Ballerina Dominika Egorova is recruited to 'Sparrow School,' a Russian intelligence service where she is forced to use her body as a weapon. Her first mission, targeting a C.I.A. agent, threatens to unravel the security of both nations.

It surprises me a little bit that this film is only rated 15. There's violence, sex, torture, nudity... so many things that make this one classic fodder for an 18 rating.

Red Sparrow was a good spy flick, gripping throughout but a little bit predictable at times. The more I think about this one the more I'm tempted to give it only two stars. While I found the story line interesting, there isn't much that made me enthusiastic.

People ask me what I've seen recently and this is the only one I can never remember. I don't think it's going to be one of this year's must see movies.

**I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review**

Hmm...I struggled with this book. It isn't anything like the other New Adult book I've read and I just couldn't get into it.

It might have had something to do with the two main characters not meeting until about 35% into the book and I'm not sure how I felt about the dual POV. I normally read one, generally the female perspective.

I can't say I really felt anything towards the characters either, they both wound me up a bit: Jesse, with his having sex with anything female until he met Niki and Niki throwing a fit when Jesse got into the fight protecting his friend and when he defended her honour.

Not for me, really, but I also have the second book, Fearless, to read too.
