Matrix is back
Every one loved the first film. Resurrections reminds us why. While not the revolution we would have loved, Resurrections does offer us fans of the franchise that what we were clamoring for more action after the disasterous duology of Reloaded and Revolutions a second chance. The action is a bit slower but the pacing is really smooth. There's plenty of call backs to the past films and some fun laughs about things people hated in the sequels.
Seeing Neo and Trinity back together is fun and exciting.
The third act is stellar action. While nothing tops the lobby shootout or anything, there's some fun "Whoa!" moments that make you go "Wow, the Matrix has risen up and no longer suck anymore!

Lacks Sid Haig's Presence
Contains spoilers, click to show
So 14 years after the devil's rejects the firefly family return.A brief recap of the ending of the devils rejects starts the movie and its aftermath. Then once the principal characters finally escape jail they go on another killing spree which eventually leads to a shootout in a little mexican town against a gangster with a grudge against one of the clan

This film is easily the weakest in the series. It lacks the cutting presence of sid haig as captain spaulding (only appears in the opening 10 minutes of the movie) as he was sadly ill during the making of the film and has since passed away.

If you have seen the first two films then this is worth checking out but its instantly forgettable.

Decent Wayne western
When four brothers return to their home town to attend their mother's funeral, they soon discover her estate was not as they remember and the circumstances around the death of their father warrants further investigation.

The bad guys eventually present themselves and the good guys are arrested for causing trouble with the local law.

Getting to love Wayne more and more the more films of his I have watched. I can see now how he had such a commanding screen presence which still endures so many years later.

It was great to some some of my other favorites actors including George Kennedy and Dennis Hopper in supporting roles. Also, I didn't think Dean Martin could pull off a western role while staying sober, so he was a pleasant surprise also.

Overall the movie delivers the mostly standard OLD West movie elements including some great shootout scenes which makes it easy to recommend.

Hadn't seen it since the theater approximately ten years ago but still one of the funniest movies I've ever seen, and at least twenty times more quotable than either ๐˜ˆ๐˜ฏ๐˜ค๐˜ฉ๐˜ฐ๐˜ณ๐˜ฎ๐˜ข๐˜ฏ film. An old-school police procedural pretty impressively melded with a more restrained McKay comedy - switching the focus (smartly, with this one) from his patented over-the-topness to squarely on the jokes. Exhibit A on why Wahlberg is one of the most underused comedic actors on the planet, dude is fully game to satirize his tough guy image and lean into it at the same time. My biggest complaint is that all the vehicle action is shot and edited like utter crap, but the stuntwork and practicals are as sound as can be and there's a pretty bitchin' little shootout near the end of this thing. Plus they blow up the Trump tower less than five minutes into it, what more can you ask for?
