Dean (6927 KP) rated Charlie's Farm (2014) in Movies
Sep 23, 2017
Run of the mill Slasher
I had high hopes after hearing good reviews for this. Unfortunately it's pretty standard low budget slasher stuff. For a short film it's slow to get going and then just goes through the motions to an abrupt ending. The man playing Charlie is a beast to make Kane Hodder look small. The gore effects are pretty good. Feels very similar to the Hatchet films.

Change your pronouns (he, she, they) at any point in the game (3 more)
Male and female romantic interests
Genuinely sweet, fluffy romance.
Cats.
Love This Game
This was such a short, sweet game. Most of the game strategy is making sure that you get close to your target character, and then winning a climatic battle to finish the game. The writing was clever, the art was pretty and characters were interesting.

Shaun Collins (3 KP) rated Doctor Who: Twelve Doctors of Christmas in Books
Jan 12, 2018
A fun and whimsical collection of short stories featuring each of the Doctors and set at Christmas time. Of course, some of the stories by the various artists are better than others, but there was only one that I felt was not up to the same quality as the others (the second Doctor story) and yet it was still enjoyable. A great, read for the holidays. Full review coming at www.travelingthevortex.com

Great animation (2 more)
The short story before the film is technically amazing
Good fun and humour for all ages
Fish this one out
It's been an age since Finding Nemo, so it's great to see some of the characters again. The detail in the animation is great. It has some funny new characters especially the Octopus. If you like the original, who doesn't? You'll like this.

Rose (201 KP) rated Castlevania in TV

A Fun and Bloody Mess
I found this TV series to be pretty faithful to the video game series. The art is pretty good, though occasionally strays into Aeon Flux art territory, which I wasn't a huge fan of. I was amazed at the wealth of voice actors that are part of this production and am very much looking forward to the next season.
Absolutely give it a go.

If you are not already acquainted with this series, and you are a fan of horror and/or psychological thriller fiction, this is an absolutely perfect place to start. It is written in parts, detailing Asakawa’s investigation of a set of mysterious murders and the discovery of a far greater curse. No part is so long as to drag on needlessly, though some are rather short.

Erika (17789 KP) rated Acceptance (Southern Reach #3) in Books
Mar 1, 2019
The conclusion to the Southern Reach trilogy was completely anticlimactic. Not much actually happened in this novel. I think this is the first out of the three that actually uses the word 'alien' but not as a noun.
The novel bounces around between 4 characters, the lighthouse keeper, the psychologist, Control, and Ghostbird. Honestly, there was nothing new, and I was glad that it was a short book.

Haven't seen this for a few years but saw it was on TV tonight and still remember the film on how a man falls in love with a girl only to be told that she only has short term memory and only remembers that date but he keeps going and gets into her head so to speak. Will watch it again probably fairly soon whilst I am thinking about it.
