This is a very complicated story to tell, as well as an ambitious one, as this story spans easily 80 years. Nicole Krauss never seems to worry about that and from the outset, tackling each story and stage of the journey as if it was the only one she was telling. Drama set at the end of the 19th century, starring Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale as warring stage magicians, with able (acting) support from the likes of Michael Caine and Scarlett Johansson.

It's just a pity the film is slow, plodding, and has a 'twist' concerning Christian Bale's character that you can see coming from rather early on (although not so much the one with Hugh Jackman's character)

What a movie there are plenty of good songs which I was tempted to sing along and many likeable characters like buster moon and others why I hadn't seen the first movie before the sequel maybe I should check it sometime but what sold the movie for me was out of this world the big stage musical at the end
