๐๐ถ๐ฎ๐ฃ ๐๐ช๐ญ๐ญ ๐๐ถ๐ฏ๐ต๐ช๐ฏ๐จ, a movie about advanced mathematics that couldn't possibly be more stupid. A quote on the back of the DVD case advertised this sappy drivel as "The kind of movie that's made for Oscar" - and I have to say, I couldn't agree more: in that it's overdramatized into ruin, sickeningly melodramatic to the point of near offense, talks a great deal but says nothing (has lengthy asides about conditioners and pointless math puns to pad out this pathetic non-story), everyone overacts, and it reeks of a pretentious stage production poorly translated to the screen with minimal effort. Overly literary for no reason whatsoever, despite the fact that it's nothing more than unnecessary, surface-level jargon which actively refuses to show even a hint of depth. What I'm sure would be at least *ever so slightly* more compelling on the stage absolutely falls apart on screen with no sense of what this should have kept/added/omitted/etc. to make it work. The only proof to come out of this is that John Madden remains one of the reigning kings of bad, intolerable Oscar bait. Glad he gave up this shit for worlds better stuff like ๐๐ช๐ด๐ด ๐๐ญ๐ฐ๐ข๐ฏ๐ฆ. Lowpoint cringe cinema.

Calandra is a powerful merfolk healer who is related to royalty, she just doesn't know how powerful she is. Zale is an attraction at a travelling show what could the two possibly have in common?
This is the first book in the rise of the Grigori series and oh my goodness what a book. I was completely captivated by it from the first page! I found myself struggling at one stage not because it's been badly written it hasn't, but I felt like I was missing out on bits of information and it was only because I was that taken with everything going on in the story I was speed reading to find out what was happening next. I was so gripped by the book that I ended up burning my dinner at one stage. There is so much love and tenderness in this tale it's warming to have it happen between 2 of the characters.
The plot is not on I would expect but I truly and thoroughly enjoyed it and I will be reading the next one in the series. I need to know what happens and how everything is going to be resolved.
Kudos to Talena. Please read I think you will enjoy the adventure

Comedian's nervous breakdown is like watching a train wreck
An intriguing look into bereavement and trauma in the guise of an unravelling comic. Set on a stage, the comedian performs an intimate act in the presence of a former student and colleague. It is a gritty, disturbing and excruciating read to see how he undoes himself in the space of one night. It is also revealing how little sympathy and empathy he receives. It is a well structured piece of literary fiction, moving back and forth through past and present narratives. Well deserved of a Man Booker Prize nomination.

Have come back to this game after deleting it a while ago and refinding it on the App Store. Not sure why I deleted it at the time but it is just a normal match 3 game to win stars, so you can buy items to decorate the house. There are lots of games out there with the same concept. Yes some of the levels are hard and take several goes (I may have got bored at this stage and that is why I deleted it) and some are easy, but at the moment I am quite happy to waste time playing it.

This book was unlike anything I've read before in that the characters are stage actors playing detectives in order to solve a case on their own without involving police (due to specific reasons that are laid out over the course of the story). It makes total sense now, but I never would've thought that undercover police work is basically just acting, so who better than actual actors to do the work? It's such an interesting story, and I would recommend it to anyone who likes a little mystery and detective stories with a bit of a twist on the usual.

Ultimate Classic
This musical is a masterclass in brilliance.
Performances that stand the test of time, Tim Curry (my claim to fame is that my mother in law once had relations with him )delivers a performance that is impossible to forget.
Meatloaf is out of this world with his song and in my opinion no one on stage has ever come close to matching how he effortlessly owns Whatever Happened to Saturday Night.
If you havenโt seen this film yet then do not waste another second.
