Top Ten series to read!!!! It made my list and then some. This book was awesome. I just can't tell you how much I fell in love with it. The story line seemed predictable at first, and let me tell you it wasn't predictable at all. I love the characters. I love that main character it a strong female. I just love everything about this book.

Season one very good season 2 moderate

Stranger things were a good retro feel your without it being heavy in it but it also had a good strong story. Nancy wheeler character having the love triangle felt confusing and didn't need. The boys group are funny landing the jokes. Jim hopper is a good sheriff and wanting to protect the female protagonist. But in the second season felt juggling too many individual stories on character. Too much

Great series
I have been looking for a series that touched that part of me that fell in love with Anita Blake without all the sex scenes and I found that with this series! Jane is a strong female character that kicks butt and asks questions later! This book has her as rogue vampire hunter that takes on a job working for the very species she hunts!

An easy read but a bit of an emotional rollercoaster.
Even though this story contains the overused character Mr. Billionaire Alpha Male, he manages to have a more unique personality. This coupled with a strong, charismatic female lead makes for a great multidimensional relationship. Their unique dynamic made for an interesting story and ,inevitably, an emotional rollercoaster. Although I was irritated and frustrated at some of the idiotic decisions the characters made, they were all very realistic stupid decisions that anyone would and does make. I don't think the main character, Tate, was intended to be a role model but I think she might just be my spirit animal. Let your freak flag fly you fictional character you.

My favorite Assassin
I love the world Sarah creates! Fae, witches, demons, a prince, assassins, and magic! Throne of Glass is the start to this amazing series and it takes a little to get into it because there is so much you need to know about her past and all the characters and the world. The series gets better with each book you read.

Strong female lead - particularly for the time and place.
Best book "evah"!
This is my favorite book of all time. I reread it every few years and take away something different every time. We recently discussed this at my book group and even though it is a classic that most read in school, everyone loved it. More importantly, though it fostered an engaging conversation as we applied the theme of the story to current day events.

Breaking the Waves (1996)
Breaking the Waves (1996)

"Breaking the Waves was a big influence on me when I was studying cinema. It gave me the feeling that it was possible to make a film with just energy, with just a chair and a window. The roughness of the style—it’s like listening to a punk song. And I really loved the way that the female character is portrayed. There is something very disturbing and strong about the tension between sexual energy and spiritual searching."

Creepy Janzos eyebrows (0 more)
Refreshing and interesting storyline. Its fun and has decent fight scenes but its a low budget show and acting can be a bit corny, especially the Janzo character who just acts really creepy. You do have to get past the first few episodes for it to get better though. The lead character is strong willed, independant and capable woman, driven by vengeance. However its a bit frustrating when she keeps getting stabbed, leads the creepy guy on and moons over the "handsome" male lead. Hmmm.... what was that about a strong female character? Give it a chance, it does improve. Theres not many decent new fantasy shows available, with the exception of the bigger budget, Game of thrones. Its more in line with xena and the shannara chronicles and its actually not as bad as some reviewers may say, well theres got to be a reason it got a second season. Im looking forward to seeing it.

Charlize Theron makes this movie
This is definitely one of those marmite movies, in which you either love or hate it. At times, the female protagonist Lorraine, played by Charlize Theron, echoed Uma Thurman's character in Kill Bill - stylized sequences, strong female lead, a great 1980's soundtrack and cinematography - made for a good watch.

Where it fell short was the plot. It dragged in the middle of the film, where there seemed to be mindless violence for no apparent reason. The story follows Lorraine Broughton, who is sent to Berlin to find and deliver some priceless information back to MI6. She meets the local station chief David Percival and they get caught up in the normal Iron Curtain spy business you'd expect with people getting killed left right and centre.

The only problem with this is that if Theron’s character Lorraine Broughton had been a man, it wouldn't have changed a single frame of the film. I'd like to see an action film where the female lead isn't trying to be a man replacement or scantily-clad for the male gaze, I'd love to see a female lead being female.

Despite the incredible cast - Theron, James McAvoy, John Goodman - the acting was adequate for the kind of film this was, but it could have been so much better.
