It was a little hard to get into because of the whole cheerleader and the bad boy thing. Enjoyed the tarot card idea. Ended up loving the book.

"I’ve loved tarot since I was a kid, but learning to read it has always seemed like a chore. And tarot books for the most part are just super boring. Still, I love this book. Michelle Tea is a queer witch poet and author who does an incredible job of humanizing every card. I brought it to the studio to kill time with my band between takes, and most of them bought copies."

I have always wanted to look into Tarot and learn more about it. I got this set as a birthday present and I knew that I would want this one because it was from Maggie Stiefvater.

The illustrations on the cards are so beautiful! They were all hand drawn by Maggie herself, too!

I appreciate how she explains not only how to draw and use the cards in the tarot reading, but also what each of the cards may mean. She allows us to read our own interpretations into what the cards mean.

All in all, I think this is a good set, especially for beginners!

Booze and legends
Listen to myths and legends presented and analyzed by two amazing hosts, with a smattering of feminist and queer theory applied to everything from Tarot to selkies. I can't recommend it enough. Plus, urban legends from listeners, native sources for native stories, and drink recommendations! Spirits is absolutely amazing.

A Modern Classic
Come for the classic card game feel; stay for the Decemberists themes. A working knowledge of The Decemberists concept albums The Hazards Of Love (and The Crane Wife if you have the expansion) are not required at all and provide no tactical advantage but you will enjoy the flavor of the tarot-like Illuminaries a bit more if you get the references.

Oooh, this series!

Admittedly some bits bore me (generally the history associated with the treasure hunting) but the actual treasure hunting itself? Well, that bits fun. Very Indiana Jones/Lara Croft only with tarot cards. But really, for me, it's Sara and the Magician, and that chemistry they have burning between them. Please tell me that reaches boiling point soon..?

And then that bit at the end. Need book 6!<br/>

This book has interesting insights into Tarot reading. I enjoyed learning about the new spreads I had not previously been introduced to. Also, I loved the different interpretations of what the cards symbolize. I like getting information from multiple sources to try to get the clearest picture of what each reading could possibly mean. I am going to try to start memorizing the card meanings soon as well so I can do readings more easily!
