"What a fucking record! If you hadn't been introduced to synthesisers via Kraftwerk or Soft Cell, then this was the album that would do it. This was another that became the soundtrack to my teenage life. Knew it inside out and what a relief that boys could finally wear makeup. There's not one dud track on here and the non-singles are best, except 'Love Action', which is pure class. The League are the reason that electronic music has been kept alive."

"If Becky wasn't a gay teenage boy with good grammar and a foul mouth in several past lives, then she's absolutely one of the most observant writers in the YA game. New Review (June 2017): Just finished my third or fourth reread of SIMON VS., this time on audio which is narrated by the amazing Michael Crouch, and wow, I love this book more each time. I'm 27 right now and SIMON remains the book I wish I had 10 years ago."

Little Sacrifices was a mixture of good and bad. The prose was generally well constructed, precise and authentic.

However, I found the plot lines disjointed and scatty. They didn't seem to be woven together very well, more like levered in to suit the whims of the author.

I was initially attracted to the book by the civil rights themes but found it mainly a book about teenage issues. On this basis I think this is more suited to a young adult audience.

"Former President Carter has been an idol of mine my whole life. I chose the ‘White House Diary,’ because he is so detailed, nuanced and candid about his time in office that it actually reads like you accidentally stumbled upon your teenaged son’s incredibly and shockingly advanced diary while he is at school—except your teenage is son is former President Jimmy Carter and he was 86 years old when he wrote this book. You are going to be so proud of him"

2018 | Drama, Musical

"Natalie Portman plays a young teenage pop artist, Celeste, who starts making music after surviving a school shooting. Then it becomes a film about what the pop industry can do to people, what not to do within it, and about messiah complexes. It’s a really over-the-top, sinister film – it becomes almost alien. But it also reminds you to keep your ego in check, pull your baseball cap down, don’t get lost in the madness, and just keep working."
