A classic
This is a brilliant example of Ridley Scott and Harrison Ford at their best. Considering this was made back in 1982, the effects and the whole look of the city still look surprisingly futuristic and not shoddy and outdated. The score really adds to the tension and suspense, and the cast are great. This is one of the few examples where the film is actually better than the source material (Philip K Dick' s short story).

Great Gangster TV
I really enjoyed this series, and liked following the characters. I love the idea of razorblades in the hats as not only a signature but as a threatening omnipresent thing. Turning something benign into something sinister. The show has some odd pacing, where it seems to come in spurts, but that also seems to up the tension and you don't know when to expect things sometimes. Great TV, worthy of binge watching

Christoph Waltz x100 (0 more)
This is the film that introduced the gift that is Christoph Waltz to the general theatergoer. Waltz is magnetic, and every single scene that he's in is so well-acted and tension filled. Who knew that eating a strudel and cream was so menacing?
The film is a tad long, but is completely enjoyable. There's definitely no absence of violence, which is typical Tarantino, but I don't mind it, since they're killing Nazis.

Atmospheric, tension building
Not what I expected, a little slow to get into but it was worth the perseverance. Unusual use of doorways and viewpoints. Director made full use of all actors eyes and faces to build the atmosphere of the film and symbolic references that I am still not completely sure of the meaning e.g. the spider. Not a film I would watch again but I did like it on some level.

A great little English thriller on a low budget. I thought this would be an average at best straight to DVD offering, but was pleasantly surprised by it. I think the grim, everyday low budget feel to it added a touch of realism to it. The tension is kept high throughout the film and without it becoming too unrealistic. Yes it's a bit like Roadkill, but also another little known film called Shuttle. A very entertaining thriller!

Great political film
If even half of this film is true, what a remarkable move by John McCain picking Sarah Palin as his running mate in the 2008 US Presidential election.

The performances all around were amazing and the script is really the star. I don't usually like to bring up my political views, so I will just say the political tension and drama in this film make it worth watching on their own.

The typical love story with family drama and tension but with a twisted ending. William Shakespeare is an excellent writer. As a teenager, Romeo and Juliet was quite difficult to read. But rereading it as an adult, I understood every little sneer and joke that was in each conversation.

Breaking the Waves (1996)
1996 | International, Drama, Romance

"Breaking the Waves was a big influence on me when I was studying cinema. It gave me the feeling that it was possible to make a film with just energy, with just a chair and a window. The roughness of the style—it’s like listening to a punk song. And I really loved the way that the female character is portrayed. There is something very disturbing and strong about the tension between sexual energy and spiritual searching."
