I loved how they found a sanctuary, but it was a pretty messed up story. I wasn't sure if the hidden things that were the reason for blindfolds were supposed to be brownies or some other supernatural being. It was a really good reality of how life could be when society does fall.

Great start to this new series by Jody Hedlund!

I’ll be honest. I am a sucker for a good western story. Probably something to do with my love of that era, and Jody Hedlund brought it to life in the most adventurous of ways, through a marriage of convenience story! I liked Greta from the first page until the end, watching her grow through the story was touching. Wyatt was deep. I loved his nature and his thought process he had good insight, and a good sense of humor at times. Overall, the story is just what I needed to sit back, relax, and know that I was in for a good ride. Plus, have I mentioned the GORGEOUS cover? It is even better in person. I am really looking forward to where Jody Hedlund will take this series next.

Forrest Gump (1994)

"Mama always told me life is like a box of chocolates ..."

While, today, you may recognize his voice as that of Woody from, the Toy Story movies, for me this is perhaps his best work, as the titular Forrest Gump in a movie that tugs in your heartstrings.

Hanks plays the titular Forrest Gump: a good-hearted man of low IQ who is seemingly involved in every major American event from the 50s through to the 80s, teaching Elvis his moves (whilst Forrest is still a kid), through the Vietnam War and Watergate with detours to meet several American presidents along the way, and with his life long love for Jenny, the abused kid who lived next door when he was but a child himself.

With two parallel strands - life as seen through Forrest's eyes, and life as seen through Jenny's (much bleaker) - this eventually culminates in a satisfying conclusion, with nary a dry eye in the house.

The series is still going strong
The third book book in the Atlantis Grail series is just as good as the first two with new trials and adventures for the main character, Gwen. The writing is fast paced, and several new fascinating characters are introduced as Gwen must compete for her life, again. While Gwen must overcome obstacles similar to the first book, Nazarian has created new unique situations that are fascinating to read about.
