This is the first book of two that details the changing life of Atty (Atancia). She is dealing with panic attacks, possibly brought on by the trauma of seeing a young boy die in front of her. Apart from that, her life is safe and normal. However, that all changes when she goes to a New Year's Eve party and meets Ben. Before you (or she) knows it, her life has changed drastically and not in all ways good. Her beloved nana has died and Atty feels personally responsible. Ben is her knight in shining armour and helps to ease things. Before long, Atty has left the States for Australia, needing some space to get closure whilst she figures out just who she is and what she wants to do with her life.

I won't go into any more details as I dislike giving spoilers but I will say that this book has a fresh take on the whole 'vampire' story which makes it a refreshing and intriguing read. There are lots of amazing characters in here that you will like or dislike, depending on the part they play. Perhaps, it's my twisted mind, but I will admit to looking for 'snakes in the grass' throughout this story. Did I find them? That's for me to know and for you to find out when you read the book!

A brilliant book to start the duology with. Totally recommended.

* I received this book from the author in return for a fair and honest review. *

Great value for money
Really impressed with this handset. I was going to get the Huawei P20 Pro but the Honor 10 is half the price! Ok the P20 Pro is still premium out of the two, but I really cannot justify paying double the price. The Honor 10 is excellent value for money. The AI camera is great, especially for photos of pets! The battery life is also pretty good. It is slightly smaller and the screen is thinner than what i'm used to, but all in all it's a great android phone. Would 100% recommend to anybody. Especially to people who are considering the P20 as opposed to the P20 Pro as this is on par with the normal P20. The colour choices are also beautiful. I love my blue purple Twilight edition!

The story (0 more)
The weird reflective portions of the author's life. (0 more)
The premise of this book was completely interesting, industrial espionage. That portion of the book was written well, and moved at a good pace. Oftentimes, people aren't really exposed to the industrial espionage, which is vastly more interesting that the commonly known espionage. Stealing corn seed is probably not the first thing you think of when you think of espionage.
The absolute worst part of this book was the random entries about what the journalist was doing at the time. Sorry, it was no interesting, and the book suffered for it. Journalists do to this a lot, but it's usually minimal, ( @Bad Blood: Secrets and Lies in a Silicon Valley Startup ), or it's actually extremely important to the story, ( @Catch and Kill: Lies, Spies, and a Conspiracy to Protect Predators ). Her life was definitely not interesting enough for me to read about (sorry, not sorry).
