Thoroughbred For A New Generation
With its striking visuals and cleverly paced plot points, this modern day cat and mouse teen Crime Thriller will leave you speechless by the end credits. Anya Taylor-Joy's performance more than makes up for the film's weaker plot points as she brings a sense of vulnerability to the character that otherwise may have felt less memorable if portrayed by any other actress. As usual Olivia Cooke delivers a fabulously balanced performance mixed with dead pan that just makes sense given the subject matter. I feel this chic mystery will garner a cult following in the years to come and it rightly deserves so.

Smart, taut thriller has lost none of its relevance or credibility. Journalists present at an accident in a nuclear plant attempt to uncover exactly what they witnessed; the supervisor at the plant makes his own investigation and uncovers some disturbing facts.

Works very well as a piece of entertainment, first of all, with strong performances, especially from Lemmon. But also very much a product of its time - it's one of many conspiracy-based American thrillers from the half-decade or so after Watergate; also has interesting things to say about gender politics of the period and the artificial nature of the media. A highly engaging, intelligently scripted movie, a class act in every department.

This was a good entertaining film, with some great actors, cool SFX and a decent story. However personally I feel the comparisons of Bourne Identity crossed with Inception is very misleading. If anything this is a romantic film with a bit of Sci-Fi and witty dialogue thrown in. The SFX towards the end is a tiny bit similar to Inception and other than Matt Damon starring and being on the run that's all it has in common with the Bourne Identity. If anything it reminded more of Serendipity, a film about fate, chance and destiny when it comes to love. Still a very good film to watch but it's not all out action or a thriller.

Brutal
A very good film...in the end and a bit odd as well. The first 20mins I found very slow and dull. I was worried this could be a low budget shocker that was over hyped. Once the film got going though it is pretty relentless until the end. The violence is very brutal, gritty and disturbing. For once in a film it was quite realistic. The only down side was the twist towards the end which left many questions unanswered. Maybe a film that needs to be watched more than once to get a better understanding of it. Overall a good British thriller that will last long in the memory after viewing.

Nate Overbay is all ready to commit suicide when he stumbles on a bank robbery. But this wasn't an ordinary bank robbery, and suddenly he has some nasty men after his estranged family. Can he figure out a way to save them?

While it wasn't quite the heart pounding suspense I was expecting, I enjoyed the book more as a result. The characters were richer and the writing so good it brought every scene to life. This is a thriller with characters you truly care about, and it is better as a result.

Period-set black comedy-thriller with Matt Damon as a pillar of the titular planned community, struggling to recover from the death of his wife in a burglary-gone-wrong. (Or is he...?) Actually based on a script set aside by the Coen brothers decades ago; it's tempting but fruitless to speculate as to how much of their work remains.

Quite well directed by Clooney, and the plotting is very smart, but a subplot about toxic racism feels intrusive and disconnected from the rest of the film - as a result what could have been a clever and understated film just feels like it's indulging in clumsy virtue-signalling. Would have been much better without the preachiness.

Kinda interesting
Honestly, I think this would have been a better psychological movie than a horror/thriller movie like they tried to make it be. I thought the premise was interesting and it was well casted. However, I didnt like that I felt like there was information that I didnt have. Maybe that comes from not watching the original. But I felt like there was a lot of stuff that was left unsaid or unexplained. Like for example, in the beginning, courtney tells the group what she saw and what it felt like, but we didnt see that with the others and their experiences were different. Why were they all different? What affected the outcome?

I can't decide if I liked or hated this book - and you can't really review a thriller without giving spoilers - but I thought some parts were predictable (I called one but then it turned out different than I thought) and I called another completely, though it still made for a good book I think 109 chapters in 418 pages was a little much - why all the chapters? I hate that. I didn't much like the side players - Kate was a **insert bad word** and Amy I found to be a bit annoying - I did like the rest though I think the book is made to make you hate people. Overall a decent ride!

Wow...
This movie is on Netflix right now and is INTENSE. Everything about this whole movie was done EXTREMELY well. The story is a rollercoaster ride of emotion and questions. It involves nuclear terrorism and interrogation techniques that lead to torture and begs the question-just how far could and should we go to get the job done to protect millions of people in the fight against terrorism? This movie is not for the faint hearted and is EXTREMELY intense throughout. Not at all for kids, in my opinion. Michael Sheen, Samuel L. Jackson and Carrie-Anne Moss deliver top notch performances in this emotionally driven thriller. Highly recommend it. WORTH A WATCH!

This thriller is completely gripping. Ellie was a golden girl, the apple of her motherÕs eye and only fifteen years old when she disappeared without a trace. Ten years later her mother, Laurel still has unanswered questions when she meets a man who sweeps her off her feet. Then she meets his daughter, the image of her lost Ellie, and Lauren must begin to unravel the mystery of what happened.
JewellÕs drama unfolds quickly and uses a smattering of dramatic irony, so that you figure out the truth before Laurel, making you squirm in your comfy reading spots as you read on. This is a pacy, dark, tense story, totally compelling until the very last word.
