Classic
Absolute classic. Very of its time. A spread of laughter and tears. Deborah Kerr at her best.
Everyone knows the tale of meeting at the top of the empire state building but I think people forget the full story. I certainly had and was moved all over again after revisiting this film after about 25 years!! Makes me want to watch sleepless in Seattle again!!

Let me start off by saying I am a huge fan of the author. Her time travel romance was wonderful. I went into this book knowing the romance would be top notch swoony and I was not wrong. The dual POV makes the story so much more alive.
I found myself laughing and even shedding a tear or two while reading.
This is the perfect story for anyone who loves gushy romance that has depth

Joy, Anger, Fear, Sadness and Disgust
Well, that was a brave move by Disney Pixar.
Remember the old Beano/Dandy cartoon The Numskulls? This takes a superficially similar approach, following the emotions (who are given form) of a young girl named Riley after her family move to a new city.
Typical top-notch animation with a message at its core - in this case, that every emotion (even Sadness) has its place - from Pixar

ArecRain (8 KP) rated Dark Hunger (Manga Version of Carpathians, #14) in Books

Compared to her other works, this book lacked plot-line and development. I understand that it was much shorter than her other actual novels, but if they wanted to make a "good" manga, they shouldn't have either made it longer or added more manga to it. They it is honestly kind of pathetic in it's construction. On top, of that the artwork could have been better. Just like the plot-line, there was little detail.

This is my Favorite Bill Murray Movie
I know he's done a lot of great comedies, but for whatever reason this one continues to make me laugh every single time. It's smart in a way it shouldn't be, his reactions are over the top, but there is nuance to them as well. There's a scene where he's talking to a dead guy and it's pure magic. This is a desperately underrated classic.

Too hot for some but not for others
The true story of the Granite Mountain Hotshots (first firemen on the front line of brush fires) and their story from 2nd tier to the front lines. The movie is a complex look into their lives and hoe they became a family.
The cast for this movie is top notch and the way they portrayed them and their families was done very well
Brolin
Bridges
Teller
Connolly

Polly Pepper has gotten a job on the next great reality show as a judge. But when another judge is murdered, Polly suddenly finds herself with a whole lot of suspects. The characters and plot are delightfully over the top in an "only in Hollywood" way. Wacky but lots of fun.

Beatrix Potter is checking out the property she just bought in the Lake District of England. But figuring out what to do with her tenants is the least of the problems. There have been a rash of burglaries and a woman died under mysterious circumstances. The book was cute but very slow.

Dean (6927 KP) rated Ninja Assassin (2009) in Movies

An all out exercise for the eye-balls! This is a very violent, extremely bloody/gory martial arts film. I think they must use the same techniques used by Asian cinema with almost fountains of blood with every slice and dice of a Ninja sword. Revenge is the plot, of course....way over the top, humanely impossible action scenes, some cool effects and some great fights. It makes Kill Bill look tame in comparison.
