Strong hold ( Dragon Star book 1)
By Melanie Rawn

A generation of peace is about to be shattered as a seemingly unstoppable invasion force lays siege to High Prince Rohan's realm. For Andry, the Sunrunner Lord, the invasion is a fulfilment of his long-ago visions of disaster to come. This is the first book in the "Dragon Star" trilogy.

This was a bit meh for me after the catch up and then the initial excitement of the war it got a bit tedious in the middle but ended strongly. I think the next few books are definitely a must read so I’ll keep going!

Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior (1982)
1982 | Action, Mystery, Sci-Fi
I was going to start this by claiming this was the middle of the Mad Max trilogy, but I had temporarily forgotten about Fury Road.

Perhaps it's better to say this is the middle of the Mel Gibson era of Mad Max films.

It's also hard to believe that this is nearly 40 years old now, holding up remarkably well for its age. That, I think, is probably due to its reliance on practical effects for most of the scenes of vehicular mayhem that occur throughout (in the post apocalyptic wasteland) rather than CGI.

In my books, this is definitely a step up from the first movie.

Did Charlie Bennett ever tell you that vampires are evil spawn? Well they are!
She's had just about enough of them and when the unthinkable happens, she decides it might just be time to use her blood as a weapon against them.
It's time for a little anarchy.

It was a decent read and we found out a lot more about Charlie. I was a little disappointed in parts and I can’t pinpoint what but something was annoying me about the whole situation. But still a few good reveals ready for book 3.

I was really looking forward to The Child Left in the Dark. And I wasn’t disappointed.

Set 6 months after the last book (The Girl with the Green Eyes) ended, and Ariana is angry and confused. Bella is working with Lychen just to keep Ariana safe, although Ariana neither knows nor understands this.

There’s great writing, an exciting plot and gruesome creatures. There’s a whole thing going on about ethics around the tweaking of DNA and neurology.

You will have to read the first book to fully understand what’s going on, but you won’t regret it. I’m eagerly waiting for the final part of this trilogy now!
