I enjoyed this book to point I could not put it down. I can tell you I had some bad feeling for Lonnie along with Gideon. Lonnie thinks that Gideon is a lot like her father in terms with the whiskey and believe it or not she doe not learn to listen to Gideon in terms if he was telling the true about him coming home when he went off to pay a debt.
Gideon was somewhat like Lonnie father in terms with whiskey but doe change for the family he is got. Can he really change for the love of Lonnie or does he move on.
Find out by picking this book up and reading it. The Author put some really good issues in the book and Can Lonnie learn to trust or does her mistake ruin it for her and her son.

I have not read too much by Stephen King, but I do consider him a great author. This book, in drawing inspiration from Bram Stoker's Dracula (which I didn't know until I read the forward of the book) is an excellent read! Like all of his books, there was the overarching creepy vibe to the setting and the characters. I didn't really trust any of them at any point in the story, which I think is the point. There is no reliable narrator in this.
It was cool to see the allusions to Dracula, the almost letter writing style was awesome because it comes directly from the source.
This book begs the question of what would happen if Dracula took place in a modern day town of middle America and answers that question well. I can't wait to pick up another book by Stephen King!

Erika Kehlet (21 KP) rated Masking for Trouble (Costume Shop Mystery, #2) in Books

I think it would be great to live in a town that loves costume parties and Halloween this much! Margo is such a quirky character whether she is working in her familys costume shop or just running errands, shes always in costume. When a business man interested in developing the small town into something more modern and profitable threatens to run Margos shop out of business, she is understandably angry. When she finds his dead body at a Halloween party she wasnt invited to, she becomes the prime suspect. Rather than trust the police to find the real killer, Margo decides to investigate on her own. This was a unique story, and a perfect read for this time of year.

Emma and Granny find themselves in the middle of a family fight when Rikki Ricardo asks them to contact her deceased father to help her stop her older sister Lucy from selling the family restaurant and food business. However, her father’s ghost wants Rikki to sell before something happens to her. Is Rikki in danger?
This book was outstanding. The plot is strong with conflict you could feel between the characters and so much suspicious behavior it was hard to figure out who to trust. The new characters were strong, making us truly care about the outcome. A dash of humor added depth to the at times serious plot. I couldn’t put it down.
NOTE: I was given a copy of this book. My opinion is still my own.

This outstanding novel covers Adolf HitlerÕs meeting with Neville Chamberlain in 1938. The grave shadow of Chamberlain, deeply opposed to another conflict only twenty years after the Great War that had killed a generation of men. Against Hitler, 'the madman' ready to 'smash the Czechs' and blaze through new territories. This meeting in Munich is the focal point of the novel and Harris rewrites real events using two bystanders, one German, one English. Based on fact, Harris skilfully interweaves the lives of Hugh Legat and his English wife, rich, beautiful and unfaithful. Paul Von Hartmann and his lover, a secretary in the German foreign ministry, someone he may not entirely trust. It's Harris' attention to detail that makes this version of history so credible, right down to the description of the swastikas on the taps. A tightly woven thriller mixed with historical fact that will appeal to a lot of readers.
