Kevin Phillipson (10072 KP) rated Darkness Falls (2003) in Movies
Dec 3, 2021
I remember this film well not one of my favourite horror movies interesting plot anya from buffy the vampire slayer as the lead female I was lucky to ask her about the movie and according to her the film was a mess start to finish so much footage was left out to get the movie down to 80 mins which is pretty for a movie anyway it probably did a longer runtime then maybe I given it a higher score

How to marry a millionaire Vampire ( love at stake book 1)
By Kerrelyn Sparks
Roman Draganesti is charming, handsome, rich ... he's also a vampire. But this vampire just lost one of his fangs sinking his teeth into something he shouldn't have. Now he has one night to find a dentist before his natural healing abilities close the wound, leaving him a lop-sided eater for all eternity.
Things aren't going well for Shanna Whelan, either. After witnessing a gruesome murder, she's next on the mob's hit list. And her career as a dentist appears to be on a downward spiral because she's afraid of blood. When Roman rescues her from an assassination attempt, she wonders if she's found the one man who can keep her alive. Though the attraction between them is immediate and hot, can Shanna conquer her fear of blood to fix Roman's fang? And if she does, what will prevent Roman from using his fangs on her ... ?
I wanted to like this more than I did! I like some of the ideas in the book and I suppose that’s what kept me listening! Maybe I should have read the book rather than listen as the narrator was just bloody awful with accents and voices!! A lot of the dialog was a bit corny and my go if I heard the word Gods blood one more time my tablet was going up the wall!! I don’t usually leave reviews under 3 stars but I think if people read the book instead of listen too it they may have a better experience!

Book Divas (227 KP) rated House of Wax in Books
Dec 12, 2017 (Updated Dec 12, 2017)
Every book I have read that has been written by this author has received a five star rating from me and this one is no different. This was a fast paced and exciting story line that kept me captured in the author's web from beginning to end. The characters popped to life right in front of me and I so wish this was a longer read as I would love to know more about Maelstrom who is truly an evil vampire and my curiosity is piqued.

Awix (3310 KP) rated The Vampire Lovers (1970) in Movies
Feb 17, 2018 (Updated Feb 17, 2018)
Provocative-at-the-time Hammer exploitation movie; Ingrid Pitt's first starring role for the company. Voluptuous vampire Carmilla (Pitt) preys upon aristocratic young women in fairy-tale Mitteleuropa.
Much stronger on gratuitous nudity and heavily implied lesbianism than on narrative coherency; good supporting cast of British character actors is very much put in the shade by a powerful, charismatic performance from Ingrid Pitt. All feels a bit tame by modern standards, but good enough production values and acting to keep it credible and mildly interesting.

Another pretty bad Uwe Boll film, but not his worst! Had a lot of promise with a strong cast and based on a cool vampire hack and slash video game. However this is pretty poor, none of the "stars' give a half decent performance and the fight choreography is very lame compared to most films of today, no energy or passion, very slow. There is a fair bit of blood, a Meat Loaf cameo and half decent CGI and that is it! Stick with Blade!

MoMoBookDiary (20 KP) rated Violets Are Blue (Alex Cross, #7) in Books
Oct 1, 2018
I am reading the Alex Cross books for the first time and have a lot to catch up on. I am enjoying the way each book leads to the next and repeatedly find myself glad I don't have to wait to find out what happens next. As soon as I finish one I start the next.... I found this one difficult to read as the vampire storyline is just too out there. The story wrapped up well and I am moving on to the next.

Sarah Betts (103 KP) rated The Lady in the Coppergate Tower in Books

I received this copy of The Lady Lady in the Copper gate Tower from Shadow Mountain Publishing through Netgalley.
This steampunk romance was so much fun! Hazel and Sam are such great characters and I loved Hazel's deperation to have a family.
I found it very relatable.
Well, maybe not the mentally unstable twin sister
Or the uncle who might be a vampire
Or the assistant who might be a Murder.
Ok, you got me
But this one was an absolute ball to read.

LeftSideCut (3776 KP) rated Dracula Untold (2014) in Movies
Apr 9, 2021
Dracula Untold came out around the same time that Game of Thrones was beginning to take off, which would explain why the whole film feels like a poor man's GoT and why it has half of it's cast involved. It only held my interest due to the subject matter of Dracula himself. Luke Evans is a decent enough lead, and this take on Dracula's origin story is engaging to a degree, but underneath the stylish vampire visuals, it's just another sword wielding war film.
