Kevin Phillipson (10072 KP) rated Another Round (2020) in Movies
Jul 15, 2021
It's unusual for me to watch a movie with subtitles at the cinema but this is a rare time. Anyway for a movie that deals with alcoholism and the effects on four teachers is excellent with standout performance from mads mikkelsen speaking in Danish which didn't bother me and for once not playing the villain which he seems to do alot of. Overall good movie worthy of its Oscar win this year

In my opinion probably not only the best spider - man sequel also the best spider - man movie ever made. from the plot taken from amazing spider - man issue 50 spider - man no more with added doctor octopuss plus Alfred molina as otto octaivus is better villain than the green goblin and then there's the subway train fight one of the best scenes in the movie. Overall good sequel

Christina Tsitlakidou (43 KP) rated Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales (2017) in Movies

Good Sfx (2 more)
Storyline
Loved the new cast
Way too predictable (1 more)
Confused by after-credits scene
Better than expected, but it's more of a 'one-time'watch
Film definitely suffered with so many new characters, backstories and villain plots being introduced, you'll definitely struggle to understand whats going on unless you've seen the previous films. That being said, the new cast were great(loved Carina), the storyline was good and the film stands out from the previous 4.

Li Hughes (285 KP) rated Kingsman: The Secret Service (2015) in Movies

This is a movie that I re-watch a lot. I don't know quite why, but it's one of my current loves. It's a great mash-up/send up of old-school spy movies, particularly James Bond, and it does it well. Samuel L. Jackson's over-the-top villain Valentine is great and Sophia Boutella's side-kick Gazelle is way more than just a side-kick.

Dean (6927 KP) rated Immortals (2011) in Movies
Feb 11, 2018
A decent sword & sandals film. Generally more like 300 than Clash of the Titans thankfully. From the same producers I believe as 300 and it has a very similar CGI visual style to it. A nice twist to some of the Greek mythology in the story. The fight scenes are well choreographed and the SFX are very good. Add to that Mickey Rourke giving a good performance as the chief villain and you have a very good film.

Snowman (1 KP) rated Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi (2017) in Movies

Some original parts (3 more)
Funniest Star Wars movie yet
Mark Hamill and Daisy Ridley are superb
Visually stunning
Didn't answer a lot of important questions (4 more)
Some stupid and pointless parts (one in particular)
Can't take Kylo Ren seriously as a villain (not evil enough)
Didn't leave you feeling that the next episode would blow you away
Made me think Disney have just cashed in and are ignoring what made Star Wars great under George Lucas!

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2357 KP) rated M Is for Mama's Boy (NERDS, #2) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
The NERDS team is back and on the trail of a bank robber using squirrels as his accomplishes. Is it an old friend turned villain? This Bond spoof for kids is a very funny ride that I completely loved. Definitely consider it for kids in life, but read it yourself first. You'll love it, too.
