Movie Metropolis (309 KP) rated The Wolverine (2013) in Movies
Jun 10, 2019
Darren Aronofsky was originally chosen to direct this second Wolverine solo outing but had to drop out due to travel restraints. Instead, James Mangold was brought in to helm this thrilling adventure as Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine was the fish-out-of-water that the series needed. Set for the majority of the runtime in Japan, and with an exciting action sequence set atop a bullet train, The Wolverine was a reasonable return to form for the X-Men solo movies.

starwarsluvr (236 KP) rated Moon Dust (Two Moons of Sera) in Books
Jan 30, 2018
Fantasy isn't one of my favorite genre's but this was a short, sweet and fun story to read. The descriptive writing was amazing. I felt like I was seeing everything as it was happening. I felt like I could feel what was going on, the sea, the water, the sand, the people everything. It was a fun, easy read. I enjoyed how not everything was easy for her.. how things were bad.. and things were good.. Overall this was a very enjoyable story and I am excited to see what happenes next.
Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2579 KP) rated Shark Island (Wiki Coffin Mysteries #2) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
This is the second book set aboard the US Exploration Expedition of 1838. This time Wiki Coffin is part of a small group set to check the water ahead for pirates. They don't find pirates, but they do find a boat in trouble. Before they can start with the repairs, the captain is murdered. The plotting was a bit uneven at times, but I really enjoy the characters and the unique setting.

Clare Parrott (294 KP) rated Hearts Under Siege in Books
Feb 13, 2018
Started off well but became more unbelievable as the story progressed. It was a pleasant enough read. I wouldn't really class this as Military romance even though this is what I was led to believe. I thought SEIGE was a bit wishy washy and the bad guys could have been overpowered with a 4 yr old brandishing a water pistol (sorry that was a little unfair) The bad guys could have been a bit more badder! ( Is that even a word?!)

I'll start this review by stating how this movie has a giant name behind it in Gunn. Having watched the marvel films he has produced I had high expectations, plus I just love a good horror.
However, his talent does not seem to extent into horror. The horror element was seen from the start, and there were no shocks in the film. I'd still recommend the film to anyone dippong their toes in the water, but not for anyone who wants a good film to watch.
