Our 8mm camera caught what
During the late 1970's a group of kids who are close friends are making a zombie movie together. One night as they were filing on the outskirts of their small town a train crashes and the capture some of it on film. It is not until they are able to see the film that they find out it wasn't a normal train that crashed. After the crash their small town begins to experience weird problems. What was on that train and what did they see???

The movie had a good storyline and the acting was not too bad. It was a fun movie to watch. Most likely only a one time see for me but, worth the viewing.

Nothing says knockabout comedy like a truck bomb
Raucous action-comedy odd-couple movie with uptight protection agent Ryan Reynolds having to get laid-back hired killer Samuel L Jackson to the court on time so he can testify against evil despot Gary Oldman (one of his 'just here for the cheque' performances).

Some good jokes and well-mounted action but you have to wonder about a movie which thinks there's nothing tonally weird about including scenes of women and children being cold-bloodedly murdered or terror attacks on western cities in what's essentially a knockabout comedy. Some genuinely funny moments and nice chemistry between the two leads, but hard to get past the fundamental moral vacancy of it all.

This book was very fast paced, with a good grounding in the weird and wonderful Farie world (0 more)
I was bit disappointed that there was not a lot of investigating and this is sold as a book about a private investigator (0 more)
Great Introduction
I think Laurell K Hamilton is a marmite author you either love her or books or you dont. I am a hughe Anita Blake fan and was worried and this world would not live up to my expectations and it did. There are a number of uncomfortable scenes so if you a squeamish Maybe give it a miss. Overall I fell in love with characters and their world and can’t wait to start the next in the series

Disclaimer: I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.

This is the third installment of this series, and it just keeps getting better and better!

Savannah, the new girl in town, as really gotten on Mick's nerves, so he hatches a scheme to get rid of her for good. However, it doesn't go as planned (of course), and theeeeeeen life gets weird (well, weirder than he's dealt with in a couple weeks, anyway). How will he make it out of this scrape? Disappointing and full of cliches
This is a mediocre movie. It had an interesting concept but fell short and feels a lot like other movies out there.

It was not scary or gory and the truth & dares could have been a lot more ambitious.

I like a couple of the actors but no character felt likable. The movie was predictable and felt slow paced at times.

The CGI isn't too great when truth or dare is being asked. At least I think it's CGI bulecause it just looks too weird.

Ok the plus side I didn't fall asleep so I wouldn't say it's the most horrible movie. I also went into this with low expectations.

The Ritual (2017)
The Ritual (2017)

Nothing new
The problem with The Ritual is that horror films set in a forest with weird goings on have been done before. Many times. And sadly The Ritual has nothing new to add.

I'm very glad it at least didn't go down the shaky cam found footage route, as that has been done to death. It does well to create a tense and uneasy atmosphere but I wouldn't say it was particularly scary. Creepy at best. The characters are alright but I didn't feel like they were particularly well developed and they were fairly weak. The plot wasn't bad but all in all it was just an okay horror film. Nothing special. I've heard the book is much better!

Dull and boring
I'm struggling to figure out exactly what they were trying to achieve with this film. Location-wise it is absolutely beautiful, in such a picturesque setting. And the acting for the most part isn't too bad. The main issue with this is the plot, it just completely dull and boring and isn't even wrapped up well at the end. There's a lot of weird odd things going on but none of these are particularly well done. Some parts of this were vaguely creepy, but others happened too fast or were dwelled on for far too long. And let's face it, people facing off against killers and creeps lurking inside their own houses has been done to death. This is nothing new or special.

A little confusing, sometimes (0 more)
We have always wondered, Neil tells us the answer.
I love a good epic book, I love a good story which has the various Gods in. Neil Gaiman gives us Godsand Godesses from all different cultures, they are friends and enemies, and they are not doing much now.
What a fantastic idea, Gaiman pulls it off superbly. His weird style of writing is a great fit to follow the journey of Shadow and Wednesday. It's a journey well worth telling and well worth reading.
Gaiman is not everyone's cup of tea, even if he is not yours you will enjoy this. If he is yours, why have you not read it yet?

As good as expected
After growing up on the original trilogy, I was looking forward to returning to the franchise. Coming out of the film I found it a fun filled adventure back into the world of the Men in Black.

However after rewatching the original trilogy I found that the film didn't have the same weirdness that the originals had. I remember watching the first and being terrified (even for being a PG film) where as this new iteration focused more or the comedy between Hemsworth and Thompson than the aliens that made the originals so interesting.

Overall it was a fun filled film that would be worth a watch.

I watched this show last month, when it was finally put on Netflix (US). I keep bouncing between wanting to rate it a 7 or an 8. I feel like the show didn't quite live up to the hype. The weird, and frankly, unnecessary fling in it struck me as kind of off... I mean, I guess it was so the characters had more feelings towards each other? I watch a lot of films/shows, and I did kind of figure who was pulling all of the strings after the school was bombed. It had a very '24' vibe. I liked that it was a short season, and honestly, it doesn't need to be continued, it was good as a limited series.
