Well hmmm. I started reading this book not quite sure what to expect. Like a few of the reviews I've seen, I too thought it started off a tad slow & a bit off. But somewhere in the middle I got hooked. Not quite sure when or where or even why, but at some point it got very interesting. It was hard to follow & suddenly it made sense. Weird, I know. But apparently that's just Neil Gaiman being Neil Gaiman. The ending tied everything together well. I think I may even give another of his books a try!

Bonkers
Let's be honest, a Studio Ghibli film is never going to bad and is most usually going to be a little bit weird and wonderful. Well Ponyo is about as wacky and bonkers as you can get for a storyline, and you spend most of this film wondering what on earth you're watching. Which isn't a bad thing, it's just a bit surreal.

The animation side is wonderful as always and it's a heartwarming story, albeit a bit crazy. I wouldn't say it's one of my favourite Studio Ghibli films, but its still a fun family entertaining animation.

I thought this film was really interesting and I didn't know what to expect which is always good. I loved Get Out so I was really excited for this and it didn't disappoint. I think I may need to give it a rewatch because there's a lot of information to take in. Part of it feels like it could be a classic chic flic when the mums are just sitting on the beach together and the other half of it is really spooky and weird. Definitely keeps you on the age of your toes and it's unlike anything I've seen before.

One of my favorite book series
This book series is so under-rated! It's got a great story line and is an all around great young adult read. Just a little background, a girl gets moved from Illinois to Georgia because her dad got a better job. On top of not knowing many people, weird things start happening to her she then gets help from a lady in town to use her new gift. When she teams up with a few kids from school they become a great team in helping the lost souls in her historic new town.

Percy Jackson's world seems to be a target for weird creatures. Then he discovers why. The old Greek gods are real, and one of them is his father. At times, it does feel like a Harry Potter rip off, but there are some pretty fresh twists as well. I completely enjoyed it. And I discovered I've had one of his mysteries on my shelf for a while now. It's moved up my to be read list.

A dead body has been found in the cemetery, but there's a weird note attached to it. Is it a crossword puzzle clue? If so, what does it mean? And can Cora, who doesn't actually write the crossword puzzle column that bears her name, figure it out? I enjoyed this series debut despite Cora's drinking, a vice she gives up a few books down the road. The word play more than made up for it to me.

One of those books I wanted to really love going in, because there just isn't much lesbian fiction out there, and what is out there, well most of it really isn't that good. This book was actually pretty well-written and quite compelling -- I blew through it about 2 or 3 days -- though I was a bit dejected that the main (lesbian) character was a murderer (don't worry, that's not a spoiler). If it's a not cheesy lesbian romance, us gays must be murderers and crazy people. Still, the tale was interesting and quite beautiful, at times, in a weird, melancholy way.

The first half of this book was sooooooo slow, it didn't read easily and I had trouble making it through sentences without re-reading them. Too many descriptions, and weird words that no-one would know, odd sayings that were confusing. A lot of unnecessary noise that I had trouble remembering who was who. The second half was MUCH better though! It was a big stretch how everything came together at the end - felt a little forced. I received a copy of DEATH AT A FIXER-UPPER by Sarah T. Hobart as party of a House Party in exchange for my honest review.

Great for Reading on iPad or iPhone
I really love the Kindle App. I love how it automatically sends my books right from the Amazon website an dhow it connects with Good reads. Its easy to use and the options are great- page flip, colors, font sizes and choices aplenty. It seems to have a weird glitch though the pages don't typically work 1,2,3.... they always have a random "location number like 380 of 5265 and it goes up by 10 every time I flip the page.

I have been listening to this podcast since the first episode came out and I am always impressed by every episode that is released. Not only is the final product amazing, but the work that goes into creating the podcast is always so impressive. The Astonishing Research Core (ARC) puts in so much effort and help create such an amazing show that I look forward to listening every week.
