Great characters (3 more)
An awesome soundtrack by John Rezenik lead singer of the goo goo dolls
Awesome action scenes
The subtle Easter eggs to it's source material
Basically if you read the story of treasure island you'll notice there's bound to be some changes or cuts and know that it's pretty much the same story (1 more)
It's a product of it's time. You'll definitely know that the film hasn't aged well which isn't the movies fault. Example A. The bad CG animation at the time was great but today's standards.... probably not so great
Treasure planet is good
An underrated Disney classic treasure planet deserves the praise it gets. The movie is swashbuckling fun and a pretty good movie as well. Now let's see just how good it is well...the movie for starters has a great cast of characters from our main character Jim to the awesome John silver. Also the soundtrack is awesome too with songs like I'm still here being the favorite out of the bunch. Also the movie has some pretty intense moments as well as some humor as well.
If I had to pick one bad about the movie is that it's a pretty generic plot and the story is pretty much more or less the same plot of treasure island

You can dress up garbage and call it art, but it's still garbage.
Don't really know what to say about this one. There are a few very disturbing scenes, but otherwise, this movie is a slog, to say the least. I was hooked in by seeing Dakota Johnson and hearing some reviews of this being the new scariest movie of the year. Well, Johnson wasn't particularly good in it, and the movie wasn't scary at all. It seemed to be disturbing just for the sake of being so. Maybe I just struggle with arthouse fare, but I was ready to turn this one off less than a half hour through. I'm mad at myself for knowingly choosing to push play on this movie.

interesting superpower concept (2 more)
nice back story
keeps you guessing
can be tedious with characters being very ridgid (1 more)
first few episodes seem aimless
Has potential to be great
Contains spoilers, click to show
This was an interesting show to have stumbled upon. I like the premise of 2 individuals powers being linked. There are many questions still to be answered. Unfortunately, from the first 4 or 5 episodes there is not much to keep you hooked, they seem a bit aimless, and the characters who are inexplicably linked don't really go well with each other. It pick up after that, although episode 8 seems to tie the whole story ark in a bow, leaving you in a position where yet again there is no real reason to continue watching.

I greatly enjoyed the film. I thought that it was beautiful, charming, and entertaining. That being said, I do not think that it was a perfect film. I thought that the choices being made were interesting and had good direction but I felt some scenes lacked the emotion I wanted because they were too quick or short and some of the character decisions or adjustments from the book didn't work for me. I did think that the cast did an astounding job and the movie was truly beautiful and captivating. As much as I liked this when they finally got their act together, why did he keep pushing her into his brother's arms? Ugh!! I wanted to shake him so badly at times.
I'll admit I liked the unconventional plot, plane flying! I think this is the first book I've read where the jobs are flying banner planes, well any type of plane! I thought it was a cool thing to do and their obsession with them, even being able to tell what plane is what by engine noise and shape. Made me smile at times.
P. S. Being on a Greek island for the week and having planes flying over the hotel every 15/20 minutes also put me in the mood for this.

Decent sci-fi / disaster movie hybrid doesn't dwell on its limited special effects budget or somewhat shaky grasp of geology and concentrates on solid characterisation and storytelling basics. Scientists meddle with forces they do not fully understand (again), it all goes pear-shaped, a large chunk of the Indian Ocean winds up being launched into space while Janette Scott's costume disintegrates in a suspiciously rapid and unprovoked manner.
I always get this one mixed up with The Day the Earth Caught Fire and When the Earth Cracked Open, which is some achievement considering the latter film was never even made. The storyline with the crack is kind of predictable and suffers because the movie doesn't have the budget to actually show towns being wiped out or islands crumbling into the sea; characters just hear about it over the phone. The human interest B-story is really a melodrama, but it's written and played just well enough to keep the film credible and engaging. Well-mounted climax even if it really comes out of nowhere.
