This book was given to me as a christmas present by my brother. When I first started reading it, it took me two attempts of the first chapter to find my flow with the style of writing. As i havent read a book with this writing style before, it's more like a play, or a collection of thoughts by various speakers.
That being said I thoroughly enjoyed it. And found it is the type of book you keep going back to for more. The story flows very well and at times Is so descriptive you feel the anguish Mr Lincoln must have been feeling at the time of losing his son.

"North by Northwest was a big influence for The Bourne Identity. I’m really drawn to adventure, and characters being plucked from normal life and sent on extraordinary adventures. When Tom and I had the opportunity to go deep into the rain forest to shoot scenes in a really remote location [for American Made], I was promised 360-degree vistas with nothing manmade in sight for a hundred miles. Well, Tom and I are both going to jump at the chance to go on that kind of adventure. So I’m interested in stories where characters are sent out and get to have an adventure, the kind of adventure I dream of having."

"Love, love, love it. I just recently saw it again in Palermo, and it was a new experience for me to watch it without Americans. People certainly laughed at different things and found different things fascinating. But the idea of letting a predominantly white audience into this block works. It’s a way of opening doors and being like, this is what it’s like on my block. There are obviously some didactic moments and caricatures, but at the same time the dynamics still feel real today. I still think it’s Spike’s best film, and he knocked it out of the park. It’s probably his best performance as well."

Susannah Callahan, (played by Chloe Moretz). Becomes increasingly plagued by visions and voices in her head, as time goes on she becomes paranoid and violent also suffering seizures and tantrum like behaviour.
Locked away for everyone's safety as she is thought to have serious psychosis, she becomes catatonic.
A doctor who specialises in brain disorders comes along after a length of time and spots the wrongful diagnosis and that this young woman has a rare form of encephalitis.
Explained as one side of her brain being on fire.
This is well done and thoughtfully played around some difficult issues.
