Back to the Future Part II (1989)
Back to the Future Part II (1989)

Great Scott!
Mid part of the Back to the Future trilogy, in which Marty McFly experiences and travels to three distinct era's: the far-flung future of 2015(!)(I'm writing this in December 2020 - I want my hoverboard, dammit!), an alternate dystopian (from his and Boc Browns point of view) 1985 and finally back to 1955 as the point of divergence to (re)witness the events of the first movie.

With a cliffhanger ending, this film should really be considered the first part of a longer movie: indeed, I believe that was the original intention before the studios balked at the sheer running length of merging the events of Part II and the (Western) Part III into one!

Back to the Future Part III (1990)
1990 | Adventure, Comedy, Sci-Fi
Final part of the Back to the Future trilogy, this is the 1880s set Western-in-all-but-name one, with Marty travelling back to that period of history to save the life of his friend 'Doc' Emmett Brown (who, here, gets a lot more character development than in any of the previous two movies).

Lots of knowing nods and winks in this one - most egregiously being Marty McFly's chosen name of 'Clint Eastwood' when he meets his ancestors - with the DeLorean time machine again incapacitated in the past, necessitating an ingenious solution (here, to get up the requisite 88 miles per hour).

Probably could have done without the 'flying train' coda at the very end, though!

Basically, this is Star Wars, done right, taking it back to its Western roots with The Mandalorian of the title a bounty hunter hired to capture or kill ("I can take you in hot … or I can take you in cold") a package: a package that proves to be more than he was expecting (and that becomes an internet sensation).

With each episode roughly 30 minutes or so, it never really outstays its welcome, including - during the course of it's 8 episode run - a welcome visit to what must be the most travelled to 'planet that is furthest from the bright centre of the galaxy' aka Tattoinne!
