I really like The Deadly Spawn. It gets a lot of negative reviews and I have no idea why; it's actually very good... I've definitely seen a lot worse! It is quite tongue in cheek (which honestly makes it fun and terrifying at the same time) but comes with some very decent gore and the creatures look really good as well... pretty realistic! I enjoy it every single time I dig it out and give it a watch... one for the Creature Feature fans!
James Koppert (2698 KP) rated Communion in Books

The book was the first where Strieber, classed as a credible Witness and whom has withstanded numerous lie detector tests etc is hypnotized and looks at the events where the aliens take him from his home, experiment on him and return him.
A book so seminal which has created the entire dialogue on such things we look at today desrerves more than 6 right? Well it would if is wasn't for the musings and ramblings. If Strieber just spoke about the cases then this would be a haunting scary book but he doesn't and it lets it down.. it still went on to sell millions with best selling follow ups do what do I know.

The first episode is quite confusing, with so much seemingly unrelated stuff going on it is a lot to take in especially who is who and what part of the story they are connected to.
In my opinion it remains a bit of a jumble through a few episodes and I almost gave up on it after episode 4, however I persevered and I'm glad I did, it all calmed down and once you knew who was who, it made much more sense. Leading to a reasonably worthwhile viewing with some parts feeling a little like 24 in story progression.
Not the best I have seen recently but worth watching if you like action thriller type series.
