Brief Synopsis – A group of experts are hired to infiltrate the mind of an executive in order to implant a thought into his mind that will change the way he runs his company.
My Take on it – This is an amazing film that once again is able to prove the genius of writer/director Christopher Nolan.
This story works on so many levels and stays intriguing, interesting and thrilling from start to finish.
The story is presented as an existential one yet they expertly use special effects and dialogue to make things seem even more tangible and relatable which works superbly throughout.
The cats is unbelievable and they all are able to work so well together as a team that it helps make the story move forward at a great pace that moves so fluidly throughout.
Nolan does a splendid job directing this film and is able to create a world that is a mixture of reality and fantasy yet still comes across as plausible and realistic throughout.
The story itself is multi layered and this helps make the story feel even more interesting and intriguing as things seem to get more and more complex as they move forward.
It’s imperative to pay close attention to the story because of the fact that it jumps around within the various story levels and if you get distracted, you might miss something quite important because nothing is truly ever as it seems.
Nolan is an amazing writer and this film is further proof of his ability to create unique and original stories for us to savor for all time.
It’s a pity that most films that are made these days aren’t filled with original ideas like this one is.
The story is quite mind blowing and manages to keep surprising the viewer over and over as things move along.
This is one of the very best thrillers ever made and that has much to do with the fact that they are able to create a thriller that actually fits “outside of the box” instead of being something that just recycles old ideas.

However, it was not yet written at the time, and Nolan determined that rather than writing it as an assignment, it would be more suitable to his working style if he wrote it as a speculation script, and then presented it to the studio whenever it was completed. So he went off to write it, thinking it would take “a couple of months”, but it ultimately took nearly eight years. (From IMDB)

I was fortunate enough to see an early screening of this film thanks to lions gate world kindness day.
I had read the book of this when it was first published and couldn't wait to see the film however I was worried that the two media wouldn't be compatible. The book the image of auggie author is in ypur own head by his own physical description where as film you had that image implanted there for you.
The film itself is an ultimate feel good the writer directors and actors have obviously all though about the message of the book and conveyed it the best way they could. If you are looking for a feel good movie that makes you want to be kinder then this is most defibelty the film for you .

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review when I signed up to host the book tour. I made no guarantee of a favorable review.
A truly emotional ride that left me in total shock as the revelation of who truly committed the heinous crime.
Vic is a quiet young man who is a loner with just one friend. Brett is popular, outgoing and going places and Vic's best friend. One night they attend a party and from that night on actions that are put in motion quickly change everyone's lives. the story line and characters are well developed and once you start to read this book you won't want to put it down. I was so invested in the story that I read it in one day. I applaud Kelley York's writing abilities and look forward to reading more from such an outstanding and gifted writer.

Rather ropey Omen rip-off with Richard Burton, Lino Ventura and Lee Remick (told you so). A French detective seconded to the London police (zis is ze co-production, bien sur) investigates the life of a writer and noted grump who has just had his head bashed in (Burton); the victim believed he had the power to cause disasters and gradually le inspecteur comes to agree with him.
Some genuinely interesting ideas, but a peculiar narrative structure and obviously low budget are definite limiting factors. Film makes good use of its biggest asset, Richard Burton, who gives his various misanthropic rants 110% and seems to be genuinely off his head (one wonders if he spent most of the shoot wrecked). Playing spot the cameo is also somewhat entertaining. Climax is a bit disappointing though; the whole film is never quite as chilling, powerful, or convincing as it thinks it is.

What’s not to like about Queen? Bohemian Rhapsody does an excellent job of telling a dramatic history of the band and its forerunner, Freddie Mercury. Rami Malek does an excellent performance. Parts of the movie are like watching a hilarious “How It’s Made” video of some of the best music of the century, parts of it are literally just watching concerts and listening to awesome music. Most importantly, there’s the story of Mercury’s evolution, which is a story arc any writer could only dream of: a British-Indian man abandoning his heritage, struggling to balance love for a woman with being gay, being manipulated by a manager turned lover, being scrutinized by the media, and eventually being able to be comfortable with who he is, all the while using his talent to push the band to create more and more musical innovations. It’s so good.

<i>When Lightning Strikes</i> is not your average time-traveling romance. It introduces you to two very interesting and unique characters. Alaina Costanza (Lainie), an edgy, wise-cracking romance writer with a rough past, and John Killian, or just Killian as he is mainly known, the villian from the historical western she is in the midst of writing. So when she gets struck by lightning, she gets way more than she bargained for!
This book made me laugh, and at the same time it pulled at my heart. The chemistry between the two leads and their fighting that attraction was realistic and heartwrenching. Even though this is a romance, I was unsure of how it was going to end, it was a real nail-biter! I couldn't finish soon enough, and when I did, it left me feeling fulfilled. I couldn't recommend this book more!

Good twist at the end
Fiona Barton's thrillers are always very accessible, it truly feels like you're reading an updated whodunit. The story surrounds various women with lots of secrets, that seem to emerge after the discovery of the remains of a baby at a building site.
Emma, a neurotic writer, her cold mother Jude, the mother of a missing infant Angelica, and of course, journalist Kate Walker take centre stage in this book. Each voice is unique with Kate being driven and ambitious, Emma appearing secretive, and the fragile Angelica breaking down fairly regularly. In this way, you're unlikely to become confused as the characters are distinct.
No doubt, a lot does happen so there is a question of whether Barton may have overdone the story. However, the last twist at the end was less obvious than the others and so the story concluded satisfactorily. An enjoyable read.

Mallory Marlowe is attempting to get her life back together after her husband's accidental death. Her new job is as a travel writer, and her first stop is Orlando, where she is part of a press tour. Their first night there, the obnoxious member of the group is found floating in a fountain. Even though she just met him, Mallory is the prime suspect. Can she figure out who really did it? I found Mallory a charming travel companion. Occasionally the bits about the tour were a little long, but the mystery moved along as a consistently fast pace even if it did rely on coincidence a little more then I would have liked. This was my first book by Cynthia Baxter, but I will be reading more.

The Fembot Awakens
Slightly-retro-but-in-a-good-way SF movie from the writer of The Beach and 28 Days Later. Corporate minion is whisked off to the wilderness by wealthy boss to participate in experiments testing the intelligence of a female-looking android he has built; android indeed proves to have a mind of her own.
Wears its influences relatively lightly and looks good; that said, seems more content to play with the issues it raises than actually explore them with any real rigour. Ending is a bit silly, but forgivably so. If, as seems possible, the director wants to make a point about male exploitation of women, it might be better not to do so in a movie where every female actress is required to do a full-frontal nude scene. Smarter than the usual studio SF film, anyway; passes the time entertainingly.

I finished this book and its sequel a week or so ago. They didn't make enough of an impression to compel me to write about them at the time. However, one issue has stuck with me, so I decided to go back and write about it briefly.
Jenna Black has absolutely NO understanding of BDSM, and she has done a disservice to those who do practice it. I am not an authority on the subject, but I have some exposure, and none of the activity she describes rings true. She doesn't even understand the equipment! That seriously damages her standing as a writer, as far as I'm concerned. There's more than enough information available to anyone who wants to do the research, and it wouldn't have been too difficult for her to find serious practitioners to critique the BDSM content had she cared to do so.
