Ross (3284 KP) rated Feed (Newsflesh Trilogy #1) in Books
Sep 4, 2017
Great premise for a zombie series, the usual man-made virus trope dusted off again, but this time thee action happens quite some time after the breakout and society is fairly stable and safe now. Or at least it would be if those ruddy journalists (the protagonists) didn't go poking sticks where they shouldn't.
This is something of a zombie version of Hunter S Thompson's campaign trail with the hired journalists documenting a presidential candidate's campaign trail, with various implausible (staged) accidents.
The action rolls along well, the characters are a little irritating and some of the dialogue really got on my nerves.
Overall an enjoyable read with something of a message to it, and I did carry on with the series.

Plot
Brilliant writing
One of the best zombie books I've read and the start on an epic series

Patient Zero is the first book in Jonathan Maberry's Joe Ledger series. Jonathan Maberry is a phenomenal writer, in this series he introduces us to the DMS (Department of Military Sciences) a shadow government agency formed to respond to advanced terrorist threats such as bioterrorism, alien technology etc..
In this book we meet an array of characters such as Mr Church, Aunt Sally, Top and Bunny when Joe is recruited by Mr Church to help deal with the potential release of a zombie virus. This book is thrilling, funny, and keeps the reader itching for more.
I give this book 10/10.

Wedding crashers
Another good installment in the Rec series. This time set at a wedding reception during the day, told via the wedding video. It has some ties to the first two films but has a totally different vibe this time. More of a Horror comedy this time around but still very gory. Definitely one for Zombie fans.

Zombies at their best
Let's face it zombie films have over-saturated the market in recent years, however fortunately Zombieland is a refreshing addition. Its full of fun, humour and blood and guts, Woody Harrelson is fantastic as Tallahassee and there's a hilarious cameo from Bill Murray. You can't help but want a Twinkie after watching this either.

The game looked like a very grim,zombie-killing game. It was actually was a ridiculously impressive and immersive strategy game. There are a few technicalities, but overall there's nothing out there that gives you such a feeling of fight-or-flight

Apr 21, 2018
The End is a well paced zombie book. The main characters of Cate and Melody are fairly developed and fit well with the plot. I would like to find out what happens to the characters so I really would like to see a sequel.. I think the characters, especially Cate, can be developed more in future books.
