Better than I thought it would be
I was not expecting a whole lot out of this, but it was a surprisingly fun action movie. It was a fresh take on the Kong mythos.

Not as good as I wanted it to be.
I wanted to like this movie, but it was difficult. Statham has trouble carrying a movie, and it doesn’t change with this one. The relationship was about as contrived as you can get, and I really had a tough time caring about the characters.
