I really loved this film! It was my first time watching it and I thought it was super good! I am a sucker for the 80s, especially in film so I'm not entirely surprised I loved this one but I'm super happy I did. I definitely want to finish this series and I'm excited to see where it goes!

I enjoyed the characters a lot, I think Marty is my favorite, duh. But I also really loved that they embraced the change between the '50s and the '80s. I loved that Doc talks about what it was like to be where the mall was before it was a mall and then we see it happen. I like the details like that. Same with Marty's neighborhood.

Overall, I think this film is a great watch and definitely one I'll come back to!

I’m going to start this review off with an apology at the quality of it. I’ve tried and tried to think of some things to say about this book but my mind is drawing a blank. I read this novel during a bit of a slump and I feel as though I just drifted through it.

I know I enjoyed it, not as much as I’d hoped, but enough to not dislike it. And I know that it got very emotional and I had a bit of a cry fest at the end. But from there, I’m a bit stuck… How do I do this review thing again?

Characters in this one are different. You feel like you really get to know them throughout the story, but when you’ve finished the book you realise you didn’t really know them at all. They were well developed and were talked about enough, but it was as though they were behind a screen. The characters themselves talked about how another character was hiding behind a mask, but you come to realise that all the characters were wearing masks, not just from each other, but from the reader too.

The story is a bit of a strange one and I felt it losing me in some points. It was a story about love, loss, grief and mystery. But very different to the kinds of mystery you’re used to seeing on my page. This one is certainly unique, but is definitely a slow mover, so anyone looking for something fast-paced, pass this one up.

I can’t work out what more to say. If you like emotional, slow moving novels in moody settings with distant characters, this book is definitely something for you. I’m glad I stepped a little out of my comfort zone with this one because I did enjoy it, but it’s not the type of book I could read a lot.

I really wanted to like The 5th Wave. The synopsis sounded fantastic, it's becoming a movie – the book just sounded like one of those that I would probably read quickly, enjoy it, demand the second book (in other words, snag it straight off Lupe's shelf), read through that quickly, and pretty much have another favorite book this year (there's really only two so far that are special).

I didn't even last thirty pages. Thirty pages, which says a lot, because while I may give up on books more often now, I don't usually give up THAT early.

The premise wasn't what made me give up reading The 5th Wave – characters trying to fight for survival? Sounds like Hatchet, only with the "aliens" attacking with "waves."

I only stopped because of Cassie. Cassie, short for Cassiopeia, the main character of the book. I couldn't stand her for the life of me.

She's materialistic – in a world when the world is literally falling apart around you, who cares about hygiene being top priority? It's great she cares (because you can't just walk to a job interview smelling like horse poop), but by the whatever wave that's past the first, I'm pretty sure you're too busy making surviving the day your priority.

She's rude – if there's one thing I don't like, it's texting while in a conversation simply because you're bored. Then, she says, "Oh, and in case you're an alien reading this? BITE ME."

Totally. I'm totally willing to bite Cassie... in a review, that is.

Basically, there was a vibe about her I didn't like early on. But with all of the flashbacks at literally every chapter, I not only got to know the world before the 1st Wave, I got to know Cassie as a person. And Cassie probably tops the list of the most annoying characters I've ever come across in a book.

Someone please tell me I'm not the only one who couldn't stand Cassie. If I am, I'm willing to cry in a little corner alone with my lonesome self...

I Love Movies Like This
I am a big fan of Marvel, and I couldn't have been happier with this movie. Thor is one of the classics, based off of ancient mythology. He is a God. A protector. In this movie they gave him a funny side and it makes it that much more enjoyable.

I love the realistic sarcasm that was thrown into the battle scenes. While the costumes are a bit odd, the movie itself is well made and I would definitely watch it again.

Thought this was brilliant untill I saw Star Wars. Thought the story was really good and thought it was up with Star Trek. As you probably can tell by now I was a sci-fi geek lol. But I was into this in a big way liked the way it followed them to earth. (1 more)
And then followed them around for a bit. And the new Battlestar Galactica where brilliant from beginning to end I have them in my collection and pull them out every once in a while
Loved this when I was a kid

A nice, quick and enjoyable read. I should say that I shouldn't really class this short story as a 'romance' as it is more of a dose of 'smut'...but good smut I might add.
It outlines the bully/victim relationship with a splash of attraction and lust leaving the reader wanting more. In my personal opinion I can not stand bullies and people who abuse others so it makes me cringe a bit when these people are so easily forgiven. Even so I would definitely consider reading the possible sequel.

Absolutely beautiful!
Absolutely beautifully written book! Not my usual go to read but after hearing reviews via a book club, I thought I'd give it a go. Wow! I dont think I've even read such a vivid book. Every description, it was as if I could open my eyes and be a part of the story. Truly wonderful and one I'll keep hold of forever so I can return for a visit whenever I like.

"Okay. I’m going to say a weird one here — but what an amazing performance in that film. When I was a kid I just loved these kind of movies that just took me to another world. I still like watching it today. I watch it with my kids. Gene Wilder. What a performance. It’s just extraordinary. It’s just a film that’s always stayed with me and I still love it today. It’s still fascinating to look at. Gene Wilder is just wild and kind of lonely and mad and so unhinged. It’s a fantastic film."

I've given it three stars because I wanted this to be a happier story, I wanted Sophie to end up happy, and I guess in a way she was but I love romances in books and this one wasn't exactly all roses and light.

I was in turmoil for a lot of this. How everyone treated her and why was just so unfair but she'd made a promise to him and got a lot of shit for it. She never broke it though, despite the heartache it caused. Poor Sophie.
